Spyderco Listens...

I haven't logged in in over 4 months or so here on Spyderco forums. The last time I was here, Sal was talking about one day using his signature mark on some of the Value knives. I was one of the people who asked if he would ever do that. I told him I thought it would be a great idea and many others ...

Off Topic about Moving into a new neighborhood

I could have gone somewhere else to ask this question, but most of you are successful people.. Myself, I do not know much about say for example "credit scores" or "loans" or "moving out to your first home"... I live in northern Illinois. I want to move to southern Illin...

This is easier than explaining. See the pivot? The liners also have that finish.

Re: cat questions

OR maybe its just the BD1 models... who knows? lol It's like a rougher nearly non reflective finish (if I aimed it into light, I see no reflection of the light). It's a dark gray color (pivot, liners, screws) yet the blade itself is satin finished. Very interesting..

Re: Edge-U-Cation paper, Barcode, plastic sleeve????

Sure, I have a bunch with just that piece of paper, some with the booklet and some with nothing at all, I think I even have a few that have the booklet and a edge-u-cation paper. I'm curious as to why that is? I don't mind AT ALL as long as what I have is real... :P I saw fakes online that have the...

Does your Bd1 cat have bead blasted liners? The liners of my cat are a matte gray. I would assume its bead blasted

Edge-U-Cation paper, Barcode, plastic sleeve????

Does Spyderco sometimes use regular sheets of paper for the Edge-U-Cation paperwork found in the Spyderco box or does this indicate a fake? I have a few that have a long black line on the left side of the paper. It seems to be regular printer paper. It's the paper that says "thanx much". I...

Re: cat questions

What's the blade centering like on the BD1 cat? I have a 440c and the liner lock pushes the blade right when closed. I'm definitely not insulting the knife... it's a beauty as much as it is a quality knife. My favorite knife out of all that I own. I sort of want a 440c cat now. You know of any majo...

The blade centering is slightly off to the right. I've tightened the pivot as tight as I would allow and the blade doesn't re...

Anyway, custom sheaths are always cool. You may find one you like more than the original sheath design.

This Tim Scott... are you mikael andersson? If not please correct me. Your way of words remind me of him for some odd reason. I'm curious, maybe you have two accounts or I'm just flat out wrong.

cat questions

Is it possible that the Spyderco Cat marked "bd1" could already have? I bought another one due to losing my last one and I noticed multiple things. The barcode does not touch the numbers, the paper I recieved with it looked like a copy made of an original copy (large black line going down ...

I would go for something that would have more blade than I would necessarily need. If I could only have one knife, I would choose the blue g10 cpm s110v military

Re: If you had $400, what would you buy?

I'm a pretty poor individual so $70 for a knife is a lot of cash I could use for bills otherwise. My endura and cat broke me for a week lol so if I had 400, I'd buy the PM2 I hear all the raving about and use the rest for bills, family birthdays, bills... I'd pretty much save what's left over after ...

Re: Cat

Well, you know a $200 knife just has to be far better than a $45 knife, right? My Cat came better finished than my Chaparral. The only thing the Chaparral has over the Cat is better steel, but that is a relative thing. The 440C is pretty good stuff. The Cat comes in BD1 now, so it's even...

Re: A Military and an Endura walk into a bar...

If the Endura scales turn out as nice as the Delica scales did you'll have a winner for sure! This has become one of my favorite knives! The G10 is grippy, the two-tone looks great, and for some reason, the action is really smooth. I'm really hopeful that the new, smaller version of the PM2 is clos...
