Re: Sal: any chance of a Spyderco Straight Razor?
It seems like Aogami super would be great for a straight razor, but I don't really know.

Highest HRC for Spyderco
Other than ZDP 189 at HRC 65, which spyderco steels are treated the hardest? I looked over Ankersons test, but it's not an exhaustive list of HRCs.

Re: Big-handed people, what's your favorite smallish knife?
XL-XXL over here. Depends what I'm doing I guess... Dragonfly2 is the smallest knife that I can use hard comfortably. What a great design. Everyone should try one IHMO. Native5 fits my hand like it was molded for it. Pure utility and power in a lightweight package. Chaparral is one of my favorite c...

Re: CPM D2 Paramilitary
I've been watching youtube videos about the PM1 vs PM2. The improvements from 1 to 2 seem good. The one improvement that seems really big is the 4-way clip design. I think when I get a PM1, I'll drill and tap it for tip up. Has anyone ever done this? I believe I have seen it done over on BF I'll se...

Re: VTOKU Sprint Run
Can someone explain to me why this will be a fun steel? Sounds like a very basic carbon steel, but it can run at higher Rc's. So, what will the edge retention be like? Or, if edge retention is avg, is the joy of this steel the amazing sharp edge it will take? My only carbon steels are PMA11, K390, ...

Re: CBSA going after flipper type opening
Suppose Spyderco starts building "Canadia Specials" where the pivots are tightened to an insane torque setting with the expectation that they will be loosened by the end user.

V Toku2 Steel
Just heard about this steel in the latest laminated Seki Sprint Run. Looks similar to Aogami 2, which is similar to Super Blue with a little less carbon and less alloying materials. Super excited about this, especially if Spydero HTs it really hard.

Re: Another round of CPMD2 sprints?
I would love to see the PM2 in either D2 or XHP. Better yet, it would give me a chance to try a Para3 if it were to come in that.

Re: Another round of CPMD2 sprints?
I like it myself but if given a choice I typically buy "newer" steels. One of my favorite folding knives is D2. My more recent Spyderco purchases have been S90V, S110V, M4 for instance. Seriously, have you ever been in a situation where D2 just would not cut it, and you have to switch ove...

Re: Tip up or down
My guess would be that on the knives with 4 way clip option, they position the clip on the larger models for tip down and the smaller ones for tip up. I would also speculate that the cutoff (between what's designated large/small) would be somewhere in the 3.5" range. ...and in the interest of ...

Re: CPM D2 Paramilitary
I love the steel but I prefer the Para 2 in every way to the 1. More cutting edge, I can grip the knife with four fingers without using the index choil, and a four way clip. Even after getting a tip up mod and sanding the handle to make it roomier, my Para 1 didn't work as well for me as my Para 2....

Re: CPM D2 Paramilitary
Use to own a fully serrated ParaMilitary, but the handle ergonomics were all wrong for me so I sold it. I love D2 & CPM-D2 steel though and would like to see it brought back in the ParaMilitary 2. I wonder what about CPM D2 makes it seem like such a niche steel. I would think it would be a grea...

Re: CPM D2 Paramilitary
Thank you for posting the comparison pics with the 2. I don't generally grip the knife completely so crowding probably won't be an issue. If it is, I can probably just do some filing or grinding to make it more comfortable. I have 2 jade PM2s and they are both super smooth too; smoother than my othe...
