Re: DLT Cruwear purple Para3

Shocker their server is down again Last time I stated this about DLT's 3rd grader operated website for the PM2 release, got my post removed my Kristie. Simply an unfortunate but inevitable side effect of the collision of e-commerce and hype. Think of these server outages as a virtual representation...

Re: Watu...AKA Lil Chokwe

I just received mine. I loved the Chokwe so picking this up was a no-brainer. Already finding excuses to use it; always a good sign. I can hardly believe how thin the tip is - I'll need to get out the calipers to confirm but it looks thinner than any other Spyderco in my collection, including the Li...

Re: So what's your top 3 favorite steels? and why?

CRUWEAR - Edging out my previous "all-rounder" CTS-XHP, Cruwear is imo the best blade steel on the market today. Edge retention/stability is phenomenal, ease of sharpening is unreal, and stainlessness is surprising given its relatively low chromium content. It's not the steel for someone ...

Re: cruwear dragonfly, brouwer and lil native

Lil Native and Dragonfly are so small, they really don't NEED all these super steels. Always find it weird when tiny knives get that treatment. Its like adding a lift kit and big tires to an S10...doesn't make sense. Interesting perspective. I've always thought the opposite. The shorter the blade l...

Re: Another Lil’ Native idea......

Personally I don't see the appeal of a wharncliffe blade any bigger than the Delica, unless you're talking SD in which case there's the Yojimbo which is still relatively small. One of the reasons I haven't bought a Lil Native thus far is the blade shape - all that belly on such a short blade doesn't...

The Chokwe might just be my favorite knife in the whole collection. The lil' will be a day-one pickup for me.

Re: The next Endela?

I'm counting on ZDP at some point - I want to pick up an Endela but I have enough VG-10 in the collection. With as many steels as Spyderco offers it can be easy to overlook just how great and rare ZDP is - it's incredible stuff, and it's just not offered anywhere else!

Boy, am I tempted! That blue is beautiful. Wouldn't say no to a Cruwear Endela sprint in the future, too.

Looks gray at knivesplus
I must admit I am a little colorblind. To my eye those ebay listing pictures appear much more color-balanced. Looks like a drab dark grey.

I'm all in for a Centofante sprint or update, but not for a flat grind - the hollow grind is one of the Centofante's essential elements, imo.

Seeing as how I started this thread, I feel obliged to check in now that I've spent over a year with the Hundred Pacer. Dan at BladeReviews was kind enough to publish my pictures and full review, which you can read here if you'd like: https://bladereviews.com/spyderco-hundred-pacer-review/

Re: Which Golden made design for 15V debut?

I'm in for a Para 3 - an easy to carry, pugnacious little all-rounder. It's also become my personal "mule" for testing exotic steels; I've already got it in Cruwear, 4V, and Rex45.

Re: Anybody know if a Casey Lynch clip will work on the upcoming McBee?

Don't think so. Pretty sure it's the "mini" spoon clip as used on the Rhino. If so, I do believe the deep-carry benchmade clips fit perfectly. Impossible to know for sure until the knife is released, though!

Wow. It's times like these I can feel grateful I don't much care for the Manix 2-much-jimping... ;)

There are so many Spyderco models and variants in FFG I think it's cool that the ol' hollow grinds resurface now and again

There using the "as quenched" values on the spec sheet at the top. Those aren't the tempered values. I'd expect to see 60-62rc from Spyderco https://i.imgur.com/4oWa8iq.png Thanks for the clarification - I was just repeating what I heard. It'd be nice to get HRC data from the horse's mout...
