I like it. Feels more substantial than the Cara Cara 2.

Impulse Bought Byrd Crossbill.
So, it's been a while since I scratched the knife itch. Lol. Decided I wanted something mean looking. Well, meaner looking. I really like the idea of a Spyderco Civilian, but as much as I want one of those, it's not exactly an inexpensive option. So I impulse ordered a Byrd Crossbill stainless, with...

Re: A Modest Start/Hello All.
I kinda want the Tenacious in green, but the Manix 2 is also rad. Matriarch 2 or Civilian are also high on the want list.

Re: A Modest Start/Hello All.
" That Resilience will only lead to more" Lol. I was well aware of this when I placed my order. Sal had popped on in another thread that I am watching/responding on. It's kinda cool to have (even minor) interaction with the owner. It seems a small thing, but in business terms, and in gener...

Re: A Modest Start/Hello All.
I've been drooling over the Civilian for weeks now. As a purely defensive blade, it seems pretty well designed and thought out. Having slipped with serrated blades, I know that they bite hard, and with any force would bite deep as well. This started with watching James Keating's video on the Civilia...

A Modest Start/Hello All.
Hi guys. I figured I should actually say hi to everyone. I did not see a general intro thread like many other forums. I'm relatively new to Spyderco products, though they are something a couple friends and I have drooled over for some time (got a friend who has been a fan since our teens). My "...

Re: Byrd Fixed Blade
Very cool. I will have to stay on this topic. I EDC a Byrd because I won't cry if I lose it, use it up etc. It's been serving me well since I got it, and I can say that I am rather surprised, and pleased with the quality of it at the price point.

Re: How many knives do you pack?
1-2 depending. One for utility cutting at work, and one to possibly save my skin when doing road calls in rough areas. But at least one. It's something I don't think anyone should leave the house without.

Being new to the products as a general rule... I like fixed blades... I would be on this with a quickness.

Re: Is there a BYRD in your pocket??
I carry a Cara Cara 2 with FRN handle. Pretty lightweight. Carries easy. And I have large hands, so it doesn't seem like an overly large EDC option.
I like it, to say the least.

Re: New byrds
Being relatively new to the Spyderco offerings, I currently have a Cara Cara 2 w/ FRN... and I like the look of the other current models. The idea of updated/upgraded or new models to the line is nice!
