Is this my blade? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPYDERCO-PRO-VENATOR-AKA-Pro-Hunter-FOLDING-KNIFE-/300823996231?ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:US:1123 It says G2 on the blade, mine says GIN-1 does that make it another model? This one says Pro-Venator, on the Spyderco list they call it a C-13 Pro-Grip. Confusing! ...

I was about to chime in on this. The age of this knife puts it in the period they were called Pro Venator. This is one of my favorite models especially in FRN.

My fantasy Spydie is pretty easy. Reissue the Wegner Junior with VG-10 and carbon fiber handles or army green g-10 handles. I'll take two please...

The clip placement gave it away for me. Rookies are tip-up and g-10 standards are tip-down.

My first was a Delica with integral clip. I still have it and five more Delicas to go with it. That was in 1991.

1.G-2 integral half serrated.
2.2 Aus-8 integral straight-edged.
3.Carbon fiber straight- edged.
4.Delica 4 straight-edged.

I love Delicas!!

These models are pretty rare and collectible so I wouldn't use them. The original steel was G-2 or later known as GIN-1. If they are already well used then that changes things somewhat.

Senate, the hole is about the size of a Wegner juniors. I can open it just fine but I am thinking of making it a little larger. It was a slow process getting this far so we'll see. Thanks for the compliments from everyone.

Dk to UK

I decided to make my own Uk penknife. I snagged a DK on the bay for 80 dollars and with the help of my freind Dremel, I have a UK (sort of). The hole needs more work but for now it works.

The original name was pro venator but then it was changed to pro grip. I had both names at one time. The FRN pro grip was also orginally called pro venator lite if I remember correctly. Hope this helps.
