Re: C46 Bob Lum

The C-46 Lum Tanto folder is about the only "tanto" type design that I really liked as a "user". I've owned several variants of that Spyderco model over the years and I also liked the fixed blade version of it as well. Every time I EDC/carry that folder I get a ton of compliments on it. I don't reg...

Re: C46 Bob Lum

It's is my favorite tanto folder. You can't go wrong with any Spyderco that Bob Lum designed. Special is subjective. I think it is, but others may not. My advice, use it daily for a year and report back with how you feel about it. Then you will have the answer you seek. ;) IMO you can't go wrong wi...

SA?? What does the "A" stand for Larry? Does yours have the word POLICE on it??
I'd guess Serrated Aluminum, and mine is undercover :) No "POLICE" on the blade.

Re: Spyderco serration history

It wasn't really important. There were 1001 items that all triggered fond memories, but in those situations you just have to be selectiive. I have still 10 boxes of stuff I can't even remember what's in them all to take care of.. Plenty of memorabilia! Went through one of them earlier today and foun...

Re: Spyderco serration history

Thanks for the insight/Article Sal! My mom bought a kitchen knife off of a pitchman in a supermarket back in the late 60's, it had Spyderco-like serrations on one side and finer, uniform pattern "waves" on the other. Also the point was forked. It wasnt very expensive, but that dang knife was the mos...

The Darn Dao is a Flash Batch, not a Sprint, right?

A lot of those mentioned are exclusives, not sprints...
Was just going to point that out :)
Also would be interesting to know which (Spyderco) sprint runs lingered the longest. The Baby Horn, Darn Dao and the all stainless Kopa spring to mind.

I wonder if Sal has specially made pants with many many pockets to carry all the many prototype and favorite knives.
Pancho Villa bandoliers, one over each shoulder with knife instead of cartridge holders :)

They're from Andrej / Suingab alright. He does amazing work. Fit and finish is right up there with OEM. These are Ironwood.

Re: Spyderfly and Janisong in the USA

Got them both. Spyderfly is a knuckle busting brute though, and the Janisong could do with a slightly heavier "inner handle" for more momentum IMO.
Still like them both!
