Re: Carbon Sage 1 Clone?

The "bug" on yours has the correct engraved/machined texture to be a genuine Taichung made Spydie... a fake would almost certainly have an etched logo. Another tell that it's genuine is that the scales appear to be the Taichung laminate, which has a thin, slightly 3D layer of CF veave bonded on to a...

Re: What makes S90V so special?

Interestingly (to me at least), I have had more issues with getting a good edge on S90V than S110V...

The M390 class steels are more to my liking, but now that I've learned to sharpen S90V, I don't avoid it if I like a knife that it's used in.

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

Eihther KC had an absolute ton of these made, or lots of folks are allergic to smooth G10, because they're still in stock!

How long did the BHQ N5 exclusives last, 20 minutes, an hour?

Honestly, this amazes me, I figured they'd sell through in a day or two.

Re: Cru-wear Delica

All's well that ends well, and my replacement CruLica arrived safe and sound!

Thanks again Knives Plus!

The only problem is that now I have to swap my Flytanium CF scales off the VG-10 damascus blade and on to the CruWear Delica... I suppose I'll survive the exertion ;)

Since I last bought a spydie... I need that 3rd Reveal list to drop :o Are you still holding at just one Spydie? If so, you have either my admiration or sympathy, whichever makes you feel better about the hobby. I haven't been marking the calendar, but it feels like the next Reveal could be c...

Re: What I want (and a pony)

Spoiler: Santa Clause isn't real! ;) But seriously, the Collector's Club is the subscription service, it's just, super expensive, since you have to commit to taking all the knives that come up in a year (though I believe there are different levels of commitment). As far as the Lil' Native goes, just...

Was that a prototype only, or a custom scale/frame set?

I'd have to get one if it happened, PM2 or Para 3

Re: Jesters on KP's Instagram Feed

I have the Jester Sprint and like it much more than the Ladybug, but I won't lie... a "Manster" (slightly larger Jester) would get me even more fired up than a straight Jester re-issue.

And make mine PE, whatever it finally winds up being!

Re: Anyone prefer manual seats in a car?

I prefer manual everything most of the time. The one thing I prefer to be power are the mirrors, or at least the passenger mirror. The rest I am just fine with being manual. I've had too many window motors fail on me and they're either crazy expensive or a PITA to fix myself. My sentiments exactly!...

Fantastic Customer Service from Knives Plus!

I recently had a knife that was purchased from Knives Plus go missing in the mail, it was a limited run piece and by the time that it was certain the parcel wasn't arriving in a timely fashion the knife had sold through everywhere... I resigned myself to getting a refund or store credit at best, but...

I'm sure you could cut the excess out of multiple re-quotes easily if there was a Para 3 tool in the edit pane ;)

Re: Spyderco Waterway vs Coldsteel Master Hunter 3v

No input on the Waterway, but I own an original Master Hunter in CarbonV and it's more of a small club with an edge than a knife... I prefer their Recon Tanto pattern for my sharpened pry-bar needs ;)

Re: Factory edge poll

"other"

as in; some factory edges are good enough that I leave them unmolested until the knife needs its first serious sharpening, *then* I re-bevel, completely removing the original edge and running it right to the plunge line.

This whole discussion makes me thankful that my tolerance for these drugs is so low and that I hate the way they make me feel. I decided to take the discomfort and skip the pain pills (5/325 hydro/aceta) after my wisdom teeth and then many years later, My gall bladder were removed. Same with my two ...

Re: So when does this forum start speculating about the upcoming discontinued models???

Ahhh the sad taste of regret for all of those Spydies that never quite made it to your buy list and now they're gone!

It would be sad if the Rhino had such a short career, same for the CF Native... I hope you're wrong on those Spydergirl ;)

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

This one is my first non-LW Native. I'd been intending to eventually search out a transitional linerless/S35VN example, since I have zero interest in the extra weight of liners, but for the exact same price as S30V I'm psyched to have CruWear! I would have prefered a textured scale, but the smooth G...
