Re: Why doesn't Spyderco sell replacement parts?

What new items in life can you take apart then expect a warranty? Chris Reeve Knives. They even send you a tube of Loctite, pivot grease and the tools needed to take apart and reassemble the knives yourself. They will also warranty a knife that's been taken apart (as long as it's not modded with a ...

Re: Why doesn't Spyderco sell replacement parts?

I too would like to be able to buy a part if I needed one. I like to fix my own toys if it's a knife, gun, dirtbike or whatever. It's kind of odd their policy is taking a knife apart will void the warranty and they advise against it, won't sell small parts but for awhile actually sold Endura and Del...

Re: What Took Me So Long? The Sage and This Forum

I came home yesterday and found a Sage 1 in my mailbox. I don't know what it is about this knife, but I think it fits my hand better than anything I've ever owned. The carbon fiber handles look outstanding. Why did I wait so long to pick one of these up? Anyone else a big Sage fan? I've been lurkin...

Re: The MAP announcement

Never had an issue ordering from Amazon. Amazon is the only place I can order in the morning and have the item that same evening, for less than $10, for many items. I have had multiple issue's buying on amazon when buying gun parts/accessories. I've never ordered a knife there but I won't order any...

Re: Help me choose a spydie-gift

There are so many good choices that you really can't go wrong. When I buy knife gifts for non knife friends or family it's always a Tenacious or Man/Ladybug but if I were to buy one for a friend looking to upgrade I'd without a doubt go for the LW Manix BD1. The S110V manix is one of my very favorit...

Re: Custom Shop

I don't like the idea. I think Spyderco's design philosophies, R&D and manufacturing quality are exactly right for bringing quality tools for specific tasks or range of requirements, then staying with those elements to test, criticize and eventually change those tools in order to improve the de...

Re: The MAP announcement

I didn't like hearing about the new MAP last week either but I don't think it's fair to jump all over it until we see if/how much the prices actually change for us. It might not increase street price but it may force A to sell at the price B does and although you will pay more if you're used to buy...

Re: New Spyderco for 2016: The Introvert Flipper

Zero interest in this knife. I don't see why Spyderco would bring it to market. They won't sell many at a "user" price point and it's kind of plain compared to the more fancy collector oriented models (Rubicon, etc). That's what's so great about Spyderco though, they make a knife for just...

I only have Mule's so far but I definitely plan on a Proficient eventually and now that I know the GB Bowie is a thing, that's on the list too.

Re: Need blade swap advise.

I don't think you can put a regular blade in the LH frame because the grind on the tang won't match up with the lock bar on the opposite side it's normally on.

Usually when people shorten the blade they also shorten the handle so it may not fit anyway.

Re: Spyderco Sharpmaker, can be used on any serrated blade?

I use tapered DMT rods for serrations and they work well for most sizes, i don't think they'd work on the CS serrations though. I love those small, tight teeth, looks like a killer cutter.

Re: Deep Carry Clip for Manix 2?

The manix and more specifically manix xl are the spydies that would benefit the most from a different clip design. They're so wide in pocket that I know a few people locally that don't own one just because it doesn't sit right in their pocket Eben though they like the design overall.

Re: CPM REX

I guess I'll be getting my first mule when this one is released! Side note, I've got 2 s110v spydercos. They are the manix2 and pm2. I find this steel quite easy to reprofile and sharpen. Quite easy? Compared to? Just curious because I tried to touch up my s110v manix and it didn't seem like anythi...

Re: Stropping for Spyderco edges or no?

Spydercos arent special all blades lpve to be stroped.its the steel not the knife or maker.spyderco doesn't have a secret formula on steel .or edges.yes they come sharp but its up to you to keep it that way They may have a secret heat treat, don't forget about that. But yeah the way the question wa...

Re: What if...

I was just thinking this the other night. I'd like to see a full tang manix xl in 4V or M4 and the idea of a fixed Dragonfly is cool too, maybe H1 SE. A fixed blade DF2 H1 SE would be a dream come true! I think this deserves its own thread! Perfect neck knife! I definitely like the idea better than...

Re: thank you Noah and SFO

I can't say enough about SFO, this is my second W/R situation and both went great. I even got a Spyderco sticker for my truck finally! Clip came in today (which was only 2 1/2 days) so I may as well post a pic :D disassembled and cleaned, a light polish on the scales and a fresh oiling made it feel ...

Definitely use a strop but it's in no way a complete system. Stropping is more for touch ups and after a sharpening.

Re: CPM REX

it's very expensive to purchase and process. We have a run being produced for us for a Mule Team. sal Is it too soon to ask for an ETA on this? The little I've seen about Rex121 is that the blades that have used it so far are very thick, maybe because of warping? I hope the thin FFG Mule is able to...
