My gun and knife walls have been featured here before but I keep adding stuff and rearranging things. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AIL4fc_fpFKFYLuxG-tH5oGutv_c_Lnt2E4Eo6xFP05y72MzWOJGkEdsr2O_VbTF30ZtTQAD7W0RlbYoIMhXhvnz1xVWXdzgL3UiVz6raPp_zRlw9NTUMZqs=w2400 One might wonder why is there a W...

Re: The Tactical Bottle Opener: Spyderco ClipiTool Standard
It's been a while but I spotted a new to me brew. I have been avoiding all Anheuser Busch beers over the recent controversy about Bud Light, but my favorite pub here in Deep East Texas now has a new waitress. She is tall, broad shouldered and has a powerful build. I give up. https://lh3.googleuserco...

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
I do not have a picture but on a few occasions I have seen a single black squirrel here in East Texas. And on a trip in Washington state saw a number of black squirrels in a park. They are known as melanistic squirrels. My cousin was deer hunting on my place and saw a melanistic buck. She was too st...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
The first consideration would be
the way the rifle is going to be used.
Long range bench rest type shooting
or packing it into the field and up mountains.
Shooting from improvised rests
or offhand snapshots
at uncertain ranges.
Scope weight, surprisingly, can vary a great deal.

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
That is a treasure.
You are correct.
"There are two basic types of white squirrels: albino and leucistic. Albinos have pink or blue eyes and no dark pigments anywhere on their bodies. Squirrels that have white coats and dark eyes are called leucistic."

Re: Show your Bugs and Critters
Thank you.
She is missing one antenna.
Noticed her on my tailgate.
Thought it was a bug holding a leaf at first.
Did not move her or touch her
to set up the shot.

The kid said he didn't want to go home.
Said he wanted to stay here with me...
and the dogs.
(They can't have dogs at his house.)

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
A new Seecamp can be purchased from any gun store through a distributor. https://seecamp.com/how-to-purchase/ In 2014, Whalley Precision purchased Seecamp from Larry Seecamp, son of the founder, and moved operations to Southwick, Mass. Whalley had some quality problems early on which should be resol...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought
The cause of problems in the Seecamp is usually because some brands of cartridge are ever so slightly too long. Seecamp once recommended only using Winchester Silvertips back in the day. If you have access to a micrometer you will see what I mean. One enterprising owner made and sold go/no-go gauges...

Re: Does anyone here ride motorcycles?!?
When I was riding most of you were merely the gleam in your daddy's eye. The 1985 Yamaha V-Max sported the largest rear tire of any production motorcycle ever made and set a record for production motorcycles in the 1/4 mile. But it also marked the end of the era for naked, iron framed, carbureted mo...

For the first time in a long time there was a heavy thud on my picture window. An unfortunate Red Napped or Yellow Bellied Sapsucker lay dead. The link above explains how they were once thought to be a single species and now there are some hybrids. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/ADCreHceYgAAqc...

Re: Does anyone here ride motorcycles?!?
After 5 years and more than 50,000 miles I replaced the hydraulic lines on my Vmax with over braided stainless steel. The improvement was remarkable. And though I never owned one, as far as exhaust notes go, the snarl of desmodromic valves on a Ducati makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. ...

135 was as fast as I could stand it on my naked 1998 Yamaha V-Max. Though it was capable of more, I was not. Down here we have the Texas Mile. The objective is to break 200 mph. Four motorcycles achieved that in March of this year. The fastest speed being Tommy Fabregas Ninja ZX-14R at 227.4. https:...
