I use Chrome too but I haven't got that message at Massdrop. I did get it a couple of times at knivesshipfree. It may have had something to do with HughesNet "throttling down" my internet speed after I burned up my data allowance. It is not happening to me now that a new period has begun.

The "new and improved" Starmate appears on the Spyderco website,
but is not included in the recently released 2016 catalog.
So, I guess it is to be discontinued.
