Re: Byrd Cara Cara Lovers
Well, I could be wrong, I often am, but I don't think that we will be seeing upgrades. The whole purpose of the Byrd line is so the Company can offer knives with low price points and thereby increase market share and continue to grow. A significant segment of the market can not or will not buy ...

Re: Official knife comparison pic thread!
My thanks to everyone who has contributed photographs to this comparison thread and special thanks to those who identified the knives in the photographs. Here are a few from my feeble collection not pictured yet. Schempp Bowie, Starmate, Police https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TgUJ9hf9u9I ...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Thank you, Mushroom. Ansel Adams... good heavens. This is a surprise. The only way I can compete with you folks is to use a gimmick of some sort. Here is how I took this picture. On our property, we have a burned out tree stump six feet tall that has been standing there in the weather about ten ...

The serrated edge and hollow grind limited your options,
but it is a well turned out modification suggestive of a Wharncliffe.
Nicely done, indeed.

Whoa! You have to be fast posting on this forum. The Schempp Navajo was discontinued in 2015. The Schempp Bowie is still listed in the 2016 catalog, so my guess is it will be good for this year.

Re: Have money for one: karahawk or ed schempp bowie
You are only 19, a young guy with a long future. The karambit design is the fighting knife of this day and possibly into the future. Your peers probably sport karambits. I do not have a Karahawk or any other karambit and will probably never buy one, but I'm an old guy. I do have the Schempp Bowie ...

Re: Being politically correct
The "fine line" is in most cases the line that defines which side you are on. Here is an example. One night on Johnny Carson, the late Joan Rivers quipped, "A woman could never be president. She would declare war every 28 days." And then followed it with her famous leveler, "Oh, grow up." That got a ...

Re: Anybody seen any Good Movies Lately?
Wow, Doc! If I were you, I would keep that DVD in the wrapper and go see the movie in a theater where you can enjoy it in full measure. The DVD might be worth something to a collector in the future. After you see the movie, then you can decide if you like it well enough to view the other episodes.

Re: Anybody seen any Good Movies Lately?
I did manage to pick up a copy of the New Star Wars Movie....I have never seen any of the previous ones....My question is am I'm doing myself a big disservice by watching this one first...or do I really need to see the entire previous collection to appreciate it....Doc:) It stands alone pretty well ...

Re: Being politically correct
Not long ago, Turner Classic Movies aired "The Mortal Storm". Made in 1940 about a village in Germany in 1933, it showed how easily free speech, ideas, books and ultimately people could be suppressed to pave the way for National Socialism. Not surprisingly, the movie was banned in Germany, but the ...

Re: Anybody seen any Good Movies Lately?
Saw the original Star Wars in 1977 with my then 5-year old son. Over Thanksgiving weekend, we binge watched DVDs of all six episodes with his two boys. Last weekend, saw the new one in the theater with them and was surprised how emotional it was for me. (First time I've been to a theater since ...

Re: The New Shape Of Sharp
Maybe the 40th Anniversary this year will inspire an author to write a sequel to The Spyderco Story. In the meantime there are 15 used and new on Amazon from $145 and two on eBay.

Baptized my new, fully serrated Tenacious today. Purchased primarily to slash open net-wrapped, round bales, it did the job with ease. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bVDr_qLlXuw/Vni-joWMFqI/AAAAAAAAl3A/5DA6BVqZ7ks/s800-Ic42/IMG_1431.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-C4KBKRy9qXI/VoHQZqsvaeI ...
