Re: A praise for my Salts in general and for my PE Salt1 in particular
The sensory experience of using my Salt 1 PE is very excellent--from the little auditory "pop" of the lockback mechanism to the over-sized Spyder hole. Indescribably delicious.

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics
How well does that Christo Lube stuff in the syringe flow? In other words, can you squirt some into the pivot area of a knife and expect it to flow in a ways to do its work, or do you really need to disassemble the knife to get it exactly where you want?

Re: Newer FRN/FRCP, Why so flat?
I absolutely don't like the squared off corners on the FRN. I would buy the knife if they were rounded off, but will not otherwise. I even round off the corners of my G10 handled knives with a grinding bit on a Dremel tool, then sand paper and oil the areas to finish them. Works great and improves t...

If you don't let the bait see the knife, they won't be intimidated by it.

Re: Torx vs pinned
I'm not so crash hot on taking my knives apart, but it is fun to do in general. I regularly adjust my pivot screws, however, so that is not a trivial feature for me. That feature is necessary.

Byrd Cara Cara 2 pivot question.
Does the female end of the pivot on a Cara Cara 2 have a flat side on it to keep it from spinning in the liners when the pivot screw is adjusted? Many thanks! Edit: Nevermind. I answered my own question with a youtube vid from a guy showing some rust inside his Cara Cara 2 with very detailed macro s...

Byrd Cara Cara 2 pivot question.
Edit: Doh, sorry I was going to ask a question about the Cara Cara 2 but discovered there actually is a Byrd sub-forum so I'll delete what I asked and put it over there. Thx!

Re: Edge retention of Spyderco's H1 serrated edges?
I have a related question. Sorry if this has been answered/covered already. I have a new Salt I with an H1 blade, and I free-hand sharpen on Arkansas stones. Anything I should be aware of regarding sharpening the H1 blade vs a more standard steel blade on the stones? For example, does the wire edge ...
