I think what you saw is a R. It's been discontinued for a while, I think. I don't remember what the MSRP was, but I used to see them going for around $100.

Calypso Jr. Lwt on left and Mouse or Navigator on right at work. On other occasions, Gunting, Military, Endura Lwt or Starmate is usually coupled with Calypso Jr. Lwt.

Full-size Calypso with FRN handle would be great. G-10 handle would be cool, too.

Calypso Jr. is one of my usual carry pieces. I love the knife. The handle fits my hand just right and I just love that VG-10 blade.

Blades, you're not the only one in the world who doesn't like the Native. I do not like it either. Neither does one of my best friends. Still didn't stop me from ...

I couldn't find any exact pricing on G-11, but I believe G-11 is far more expensive than G-10.

As for what happens to G-10 in low temp, I could stick a piece of G-10 I have outside, but the temp is only dropping to low teens here in Massachusetts tonight.

Mouse, to me, is about the perfect ~2 inch knife I feel comfortable carrying. I forgot to mention it on handle thickness thread, but it is my usual work carry since anything larger would not be acceptable(I'm a teacher). One area that I would like to see an improvement/change in small knives like ...

I agree about the Sharpmaker! Such a great product! That what I use most of the time when I sharpen my serations. Another option would be to use a DMT serrated sharpner.

The current model of Navigator has an almite handle with cut-out slots in the handle, which has not been discontinued. I believe G-10 version and solid Almite versions are the ones that are being discontinued.

Yes, I own other Spydies with liner-lock and none of them are as smooth as my Vieles, even if I adjust the pivot tensions. Although I admit that my Shabaria is pretty darn smooth, too.

Question about new refined Viele

I noticed while I was playing with my Vieles (they are so smooooth!) that the washers used in Viele is thicker white ones, opposed to a thin orange ones used in other Spydercos (yes, I'm guilty of taking apart few of my user Spydies). My question is what is the difference between the two aside from ...

I think strength/rigidity ranking would be hard to determine for the listed materials.

Characteristics of aluminum, titanium, and steel would be completely different depending on composition of alloys. For example, Specialized Bicycle uses proprietry Al alloy on their high-end bikes, and they are ...

Chinook, you might have the smaller Tek-Lok, which doesn't work for cross-draw. Sal said that they initially shipped Morans with big Tek-Lok, but changed it to smaller one under than impression that smaller one would also work on all carry positions. When they reazlized that it doesn't, they went ...

I think it somewhat depends on the handle material being used, but to me, anything that is at or about 10mm in thickness is very comfortable.

I usually carry one or two of the followings on daily basis - Calypso Jr. LW, Endura LW, Starmate, Military, Chinook, and Gunting - and except for Gunting ...
