Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

@ Doeswhateveraspidercan: I agree with you in one point: it's pretty frustrating that exclusives of well selling designs such as the PM2 or Para3 are being launched in quantities that sell out in minutes. Making sure you don't have stock for weeks or months is no valid argument here. It just causes ...

Re: The Serrata - tell me about it

I have already decided that I'll acquire one, just not immediately. Good size, thick blade stock capable of many tasks, well chosen steel, contoured handles, totally screams my name. :) I'll love this one for sure.

Re: Steel number 30 will be...

My Chicago arrived in Germany, but not yet at my home. Hope that customs & local shipping agents won't mess this one up like they did with my previous purchase, the Roadie... Looking at some pics I found that the Chicago has no maker's mark. I looked it up at Spydiewiki, and the designer info is emp...

Re: Spyderco 2019 Lists: Delivered & Upcoming

My question is simple and my complaint valid, why are we having such an overly hard time getting desirable knives? This trend in 2019 is not something I am willing to support any longer. My last 5 purchases of knives have gone to Buck and Cold Steel. If things continue as they have I do not see thi...

Re: Need help identifying markings on new Delica 4

Hey Kristi, can I send in my Super Gold Delica and V-Toku2 Endura so that Sal's mark can be etched? ;)

j/k. I guess that now all of Sal's designs will carry his mark? I think there were more models where this wasn't yet the case. I do admit that I'd wish my D4 & E4 and my N5 would carry it.

Re: Sal's Casual Bombshell Thread

DLT would most likely be most affordable. The Shaman is a big knife. Red scales plus M390 for just under $200 and I'd need to talk to the wifey for funds...

I have a single image done for me by an owner of one of the first few Serratas.

I will find it.

Hey Stuart, still digging? ;)

Go towards the light! :D

Evil D...not serrated you say?
The edge IS serrated, just with very very very small teeth... :D :p

Don't laugh at me, but: can it be captured in a photograph, through a microscope? Have you tried? I'd love to see this.

Re: The Serrata - tell me about it

Thanks Tom, and David! It's on my short list. In fact it's on top of the list right now. :) I love thick blades, and this one IS super beefy. Much value for the price. That's a ratio I like best.

Re: The Serrata - tell me about it

Just watcbed a few video reviews. What a beefy blade! Which I dig... :D Probably not the best knife to cut thin slices of anything in the kitchen. Does anyone use it for food prep?

Re: The Serrata - tell me about it

What factory is it made in? Says Taiwan on the blade, but not Taichung - how many other Taiwan makers do we/you know that produce for Spyderco?

The Serrata - tell me about it

Designwise this one looks pretty cool. And I learned that it's specially treated to outperform regular 440C. Plus it's stainless. Strenghts? Weaknesses? What do you use it for? Is it suitable for kitchen use? Blade shape wise I can well imagine it to be a great food prep knife. Of the fixed blade Sp...

You may be right Larry. I don't own any remarkable non-Spydies, so I can't relate. All I can say is that I'm very satisfied with the action of my Advocate.

The Advocate's action will disappoint.

I have to disagree. Very much. Yours must be a pre-CQI version.

Re: Spydiechef or Advocate

Grab an Advocate now while they're on sale. Get a Spydiechef later. The Advocate's amazing, a real gem. I love mine. I don't have a Spydiechef, but hey, it's titanium handles with a rust proof steel blade, designed by Martin Slysz, produced in Taichung - and CQIed. Zero risk for a fail. I don't yet ...

I can't say when. I ordered it off the bay from National Knives. They advertise it with BD1N already.
