Re: Spyderco Southard

This thread is making me want to get out my Southard with the STR clip. Steve was really great guy, one of those people who was just interested in others and available for any kind of conversation. He threw in a little Ti prybar when I got my Southard clip just because he wanted to give me one. Hav...

Re: Brouwing a Better Brouwer

I got one of the OG Brouwers because I liked the shape. I put an MXG clip on it that kind of canoe paddle shaped and it carries with just enough to grab at the top. It's always been a great knife and one of my favorite whittling knives since it is lacking the jimping that some Spydercos have. I have...

I think you have to update this one more time. :') :flushed :pleading :sad-but-relieved :'( :'( :spiral-eyes Sorry dude. I know you were looking forward to this. Thanks Jeff. I’m gonna leave it as is. It’s Spyderco. There’s always a chance they’ll do a sprint or something, even if it is a one in a ...

Re: The WolfSpyder - any updates?

I bought the original when the Pound was down after Brexit. It's a cool little knife. It's the only knife I've had to send back to Spyderco because I couldn't get it back together. I stripped the pivot screw. It is a peculiar construction, with a second detent ball that makes it unfiddlewithable- n...

Re: SpydieChef Late Lockup?

I have one from very early on in production and it looks like that. I guess they have made no effort to adjust the tolerances. It's always seemed like late lock up for a framelock.

Re: Spyderco Siren CF/S90v Sprint…In The Wild!

That's really weird. There was a lock geometry redesign on the OG Siren not that long ago. Did you ever recognize that you original Siren had the lock back that allowed the blade to press backwards a tiny bit if you pushed with the tip into something hard like a cutting board? You may have an OG and...

Re: Cure of compression lock blade play

I have 3 Para3 LWs and they all lockup at around the same place as your pic. I don't think yours has moved beyond what is expected. I am going to suggest that you do flick it a bit, since you say you haven't used it much. It could be that the blade tang and lockbar haven't developed a perfect geomet...

Re: Wedding Spydie

I went with the Lil Nilakka for my wedding. Congrats! Lil’ Nilakka (2.3” blade length of RWL34 powdered stainless steel) is a very unique one batch and done piece (Flash Batch). https://cdn.brandfolder.io/YLOLU61B/as/ogzzr8-fp3llk-c8gkea/C221GPWH_Both.png?width=800 It's a great little knife! I usually just point to her rack of earrings and tell her it's the same thing. I have to match my outfits and knives and some of them just look pretty ;)

Re: M390 vs S90V

I bought some m390-family of steel early and loved it, but it seemed to always want to chip a little if I got to aggressive or just grazed something hard. That's when I realized that I wanted to avoid that characteristic and moved to favoring toughness over stain resistance. I only have one s90V and...

Re: Wolfspyder 2?

I bought one a few years back from Ray's site when the exchange rate was favorable. I like it, but it's also kinda weird. Two detents (maybe not two, but the compression lock is like no other compression lock out there) and really sluggish action. Plus the blade stock is THICK. So it's slow to draw ...

Hot water with soap is the the first thing I tell someone to do when a new knife feels tight...

I have the same knife, but I like the green. That graphite color is nice too.
