Re: If laws and public perception were no issue, would you carry a different knife?

Would edc an OTF.

Unless I didn’t like it after using

Even in a friendlier knife state I wold likely carry Seki lock backs unless the OTF blew my skirt up

Re: Corrosion and Edge Retention

For those that have knives dull in a drawer, or when climbing a mountain, what objective measurement do you use to determine this?

A thumbnail or feeling it with your fingers has too many variables

Re: Your Ideal Folder for Hiking & Backpacking is....

Yes Frame lock is by far best for outdoor debris use Ball lock fills up and is hard to open/close Compression/liner lock when open fill up and blade can’t close Back locks can be fouled when closed but most crap cleans out for adequate lock up with a couple taps. Can be closed no matter how much deb...

Seems like it would only take a few sharpenings. So……why not just use it?

It is a volume produced product

Re: Self inflicted accidental neck knife death - how is a spyderco safer than others?

There are not many details here but a man died in the Boston area from his own neck knife. I’ve always considered them on the edge of a one in a million chance bad accident. This story seems to lend support to that thought in the back of my mind that’s kept me away from neck knives of all sorts. Ho...

Re: DLC / Coated K390

I bought the BladeHQ DLC coated M4 delica and love what the coating it does for corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. I love K390 and couldn’t think of a better thing than putting such a coating on the K390 seki spydercos to enhance ease of maintenance. Is there a reason why we don’t see coate...

Grinding a Delica etc. to a Kahr shaped blade is not hard. It can be done with a Dremel tool.

Re: K390 Leafjumper or stretch

Stretch probably has the most comfortable handle but I think choil‘s are unnecessary on middle size knives. It is very much a PM2 lock back with FRN scales I have an LJ and I really like it. I also have an RJ and don’t like it nearly as much and I can’t explain why. I like the Delica warrnie very mu...

Re: Ti Framelock vs Liner Lock

I view it as they’re all folders, and none of them are that strong irregardless of the lock I have a military that won’t stay open, and Spyderco won’t fix it because of CQI so in my experience, the military is not some wicked strong knife regardless of what it feels like The biggest advantage of a f...

Re: Spydie flick Stretch 2?

I find it faster to thumb the hole as soon as I have a master grip and can have the blade open before it’s in a position to even flick

Flicking is not recommended by the manufacture

Also flicking in public and is an unnecessary attention, getter

Cutting in space

I only like belly for cutting on a surface. For daily tasks other than kitchen the warnie is by far most useful for me

Also why I like the Endura family in general as the blades are almost warnies

Re: If you could have any knife in magnacut, why would you opt for another steel?

Edge retention

I don't use my folders as screwdriver/pry bars and anything at 63-64 is relatively tuff not tuff

I don't believe a folder is a kukri

Obviously a step up in edge retention for salts and the ability to run a thin edge

Seems like it would make a good stainless fixed blade
