Re: Hap40 vs zdp189 vs k390
In my experience ZDP is only a bit more time consuming to sharpen than S30V as long as the edge is not overly blunted. It machines slowly but has almost no burring. It holds its sharp edge better than S110V (S110V will hold a working edge longer). For personal carry I value a fine sharp edge. The FF...

Re: CBBL, Compression lock, and other lock preferences
I have had CBBL (Manix) and a para 3 open when not wanted (drawing). Back lock is only safe lock if not against a seam to hold closed. For me.

Re: The Spyderco Earth- a knife made from 100% recycled materials
What would the footprint be to achieve this? What would the cost be? Raise prices on other products to make the new product sellable? To what end? This seems like the "drive my Prius to the airport to get in my private jet" syndrome. From a manufacturing standpoint one would need the down ...

Re: Your Delica 5
If the delica could have the new salt handle that is thicker without liners that would be cool. FYI the new P3LW is the flat spined pointy tipped liner less deep carry wire clipped and choiled delica. (Thank goodness that way the delicata itself won't get ruined). The P3LW makes me want a pointy tip...

As a side note please don't flick in public.
Also is flicking detrimental to longevity?

First off don't panic if someone disagrees with your beliefs. We all use tools differently.
I find for heavy cutting the manix and native to work better.

Re: Blending EDC with Self Defense
One knife dedicated to self defense. One knife for utility that could be used for self-defense. Each hand with access to one of them. The longer the blade the harder to open in CQ and the less leverage for slashing. No serrations and no belly. Both will negate of the ability to slash. Due to compres...

Re: The Endela - what are your hopes for it?
Hopes for the Endela.....Black handles, FFG option, 4 way clip, ZDP option, proper ricasso to protect hand when one hand closing or from unwanted closing... and to prevent snagging on material. I have 8 Delicas, 6 Enduras, and 4 salt/pac salts. I have wanted a Peter Brady version for years. My radic...

Re: Maintaining pm 2 s110v edge with sharp maker
Genogt, s110v is easy to maintain with a sharpmaker. However, as DBCOOPER mentioned, when the edge exceeds 40 degrees inclusive or more precisely is not exactly 30 or 40 degrees inclusive, you will not hit the edge directly. In that case you are likely to think that the sharpmaker is not able to ma...

Re: manix 2 lw construction
Prefers barrel bolt clips (they stay tight and the heads don't strip).
No choils (a large flat ricasso does not snag on material and can support a finger for superfine work {not to mention protect your hand in the event of a lock failure}).
Pinned construction (never had a rivet come loose).

Re: Which Spyder For Mr. Elon Musk?
Most of the "brilliant" wealthy techie people in my neck of the woods (whom all have bodyguards no doubt) aren't exactly fond of individual rights. Many of these nobles have given to anti-gun and other anti-freedom organizations. And supported initiatives with huge money contributions that...

Re: Compression Lock Millie?
Would buy another....won't buy another with liner lock. Liner lock is a favorite. My Millie won't stay opened well. Not sure if the lock geometry is off....lock is worn....or stop pin is worn/flattened. Been back twice and do to CQI was told twice that it couldn't be fixed. ( I guess CQI has pluses ...
