Re: What steel balances attributes best?

Lately I have been more interested in toughness than edge retention, and have found that CPM Cruwear may be my current favorite steel. The edge retention is very good, though not extreme like some other steels, but the toughness is where it shines. I hope they do a Cruwear Endura!

Re: Spyderco Centrofante

That is a beauty! This is the first generation C25 Frank Centofante model, made in the early to mid-1990s (they switched the handle material to G10 in 1997). This appears to be a version that was customized by a third party. The C25 came in blue or grey aluminum with Santoprene inlays. This one look...

Re: Cruwear Endura

I will be buying pretty much every new Endura that comes out: I’m an Endura fanatic! The only steels I don’t currently have are the old AUS-8 and AUS-6 ones.

Thank you for that spine shot! The first I’ve seen of it from that angle, and I like what I see. Can’t wait for my pre-order to be fulfilled.

What steels do Spyderco's D.P.S. 15 Damascus consist of (besides VG-10)?

Good morning everyone! (First, sorry for the title typo: should say "does," not "do.") I recently picked up my first damascus Spyderco (yes, it's technically pattern welded, but I'm going to use the term "damascus"), the KnifeJoy exclusive Endura. I know that the blade is Takefu D.P.S. 15 Damascus, ...

Hi Brancron,

It is a first generation, plastic clip broken off and replaced with metal clip at the time. We used Gingami 1 for that version.

Seeking some info on an old Endura

Good morning! I recently purchased an old Endura from Tactical Elements, and am trying to make sure I've got the right idea as to what it is, exactly. Here are the photos: https://i.imgur.com/16TzUPH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/f2M1ybU.jpg https://i.imgur.com/prQEXcQ.jpg As you can see, it has red handl...

Re: 3 Classics You Want To See As SPRINT RUNS

I would love to see the original C25 Centofante (the one with the rubber inlay) revamped as a sprint run. If it were a titanium handle, 20CV blade, micarta inlay, and tip-up wire clip it might just be the perfect knife! Next, the C17 Catcherman model would be awesome to see as an H1 sprint run. Fina...

Re: Non Locking Flipper

The Serge Bean flipper uses a "double detent" mechanism that could probably be used with some success on a larger knife. Also, the Viper Dan series has a similar system, but has a "half-stop" detent that prevents front-flipping. However, it can be modified to remove the half-stop, which turns it int...

Re: What do you want to see more of from Spyderco?

I want even thinner blades and micarta handle scales. Also want to see lanyard holes disappear any time they interfere with the placement of the clip as far back as possible (a good example of lanyard hole interference being the Para 3).

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

Aaaannnnndddd???? How do you like it? And I love it! It may just be my favorite Spyderco yet. The overall design, the slim profile, the orange peeled Ti, the flipping action (it has a nice crisp detent), the blade grind (thin behind the edge and perfectly ground, sharp as a razor), and the overall ...

Re: The Advocate - An Official Statement from Spyderco

Just got my Advocate in from National Knives (a good seller by the way--they specifically designated it on their site as the "updated version" and shipped the same day). What a beauty it is! I was a little disconcerted by the date code when the knife arrived (LP, i.e. December 2016), but I called Sp...
