Re: Small Mod on the Brouwer

I noticed the detent ball is black on the Brouwer, others seem to be shiny as in stainless steel. I know the CRK knives are ceramic.
Could this detent be ceramic? Has anyone covered this?

Re: Caly 3/3.5 interest Poll

I am interested in the 3" more, but what the heck.
If I may just ask, please lighten up on the back end, it's overly heavy back there.

Re: Small Mod on the Brouwer

Thanks.
I have a Micro Mill and fitted a very small chuck too it, holding double Dremel disks.
I would not attempt doing this free hand. :) Not with my hands anyway.

Small Mod on the Brouwer

I must say I like this knife much more than I thought I would. It handles so well, it looks so good. After swapping clips (MXG) there was little else to do for it. There is too little jimping on the spine for me. When I choke up on the choil my thumb rests on bear steel. Here is what I did. https://...

Re: Anyone fitted a Flytanium Brouwer scale or deep carry clip?

Good, Flytanium excludes the steel liner, good move.
I still like the texture of G10 and BRG is still one of my fav. Note my brother had an Austin Healy Sprite back in the day and I learned to drive on it.

Re: Anyone fitted a Flytanium Brouwer scale or deep carry clip?

The Ti. non lock side scale looks great, but doesn't it add weight. I like my Brouwer because it is light.
Also, I like the MXG short clip with the hole, because I can grab the hole as I pull the knife out of my pocket.( easy Retreveal )

Re: Early days thoughts on the Brouwer

:) Lightweight is good, but this knife is quite lightweight on it's own. What else do I like about this knife, it's not back end heavy.
Stainless steel knives tend to be a bit heavy.

Re: Early days thoughts on the Brouwer

Just got one. Despite having too many S30V knives and not fond of sharpening S30V, bought one anyway . This knife was just too cute to pass up. The finish on the titanium is great, looks stonewashed but is near smooth. There no flaws in this knife. Really like the blade shape and the closed position...

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?

Jerry Brouwer :) I thought I would never buy another S30V, I have way too many and don't care for sharpening it. I ordered it because of the "package" - it's an almost total package for me. size, blade shape, the spear/drop point just suites me, no blade hump, green G10, don't have one, frame lock l...

Re: Smooth Black G10 slipped

A blasted titanium frame lock has more gripping than these smooth G10 ones. I have several titanium frame knives and have never dropped them.

Smooth Black G10 slipped

Got a Cruwear smooth black G10 Native 5 and love the knife, the Cruwear is fantastic. Then ouch, while closing it, dropped it on my concrete drive. Could have been worse, it didn't fall on the tip. The blade got a nick on the spine and the belly. Lock lug got one too, as did the G10. Overall the wor...

Re: KnifeCenter CPM-CRUWEAR Native 5 with smooth black G10

Just got mine this week, very well pleased.
The weight is just right, don't like back heavy knives.(Caly series)
I think I will like this Cruwear steel, well so far.

Re: Native 5 G10 ?

:) Actually used it today. Pulling dead pepper plants, eggplant plants. Cutting sandy dirt sisal twine from the stakes.
This is dirty duty, stropped it, and now it's hair popping sharp. Good news! Like this knife.

Re: Para3 LW in m390.. First LW exclusive

About the scales roughness:
You can't see it but, I lightly sanded the contact areas of the clip, to make it less "grabby".
I do this on all of my FRN. You can't tell it's been done, just very fine wet/dey.
