Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
My 10th Spyderco is on the way, an Endura 4 in Blue FRN.

Mostly the abrasion resistance that is touted. It's been used on firearm bores and components for a while now and it holds up well to extreme heat, pressure, and abrasion from projectiles travelling down the barrel in the thousands. Chrome seems to be a little tougher but isn't black. I've been look...

Re: It's mine and you can't have it......
I just came across this thread after it was linked in another. As a lover of the Manix, oh how I would love one like this. I already have the G-10 satin, DLC G-10 version, and the black LW, this would be a great addition to the other three. My only change would be instead of DLC, I'd do it with TiCn...

Re: Manix 2 LW Blade Question
May I ask where you purchased it? My Manix 2 LW came smooth as can be, just like both my G-10 Satin and DLC version. The blade was perfectly centered too. Mine is the CTS BD1 version by the way.

Re: The addiction has started already...
The addiction is bad, all the stuff I used to buy isn't even a thought any more. I come home from work, hop on the boards, check my email for sales or specials on Spydercos, and then go to each of my favorite sites to make sure I didn't miss anything. I've bought 9 Spydies, the Sharpmaker, and the u...

Re: Would a Para Military 2 in FRN or FRCP interest you?
After the initial "unhappiness" when I started this thread I figured it'd be 6 votes yes and 500 for no. I'm pleasantly surprised actually, I can be a kook sometimes with wacky ideas but this one I felt was pretty grounded. I was dead set against a FRCP Manix 2, I thought the Manix 2 was g...

Re: Would a Para Military 2 in FRN or FRCP interest you?
I think it would be more easily accomplished than with the Manix 2. One liner on the lock side with a small liner on the non lock side for the stop pin would work I'm sure. You could even cut the lock side liner down spine to front to delete even more steel. You could end up with a sub 3 oz PM2, whi...

Poll: Would a Para Military 2 in FRN or FRCP interest you?
I got my Manix 2 in black FRCP today and I must say I'm impressed. It's just so light, but it still feels very solid. I'll be picking up the translucent blue version as soon as one of my favorite dealers gets one in for sure, I got the black version first because that's what was in stock. I'll proba...

Re: Japanese Factory Dissapointment.
Were any of these bought from Amazon? I ask because I've noticed that these sorts of QC issues are more common from Amazon buys. My theory is that certain amazon dealers will just restock a knife that was returned for QC issues. Eventually someone will keep it, right? That said, it sucks to loose t...

Japanese Factory Disappointment.
I've been debating posting this for the last few hours. I really love my Spyderco folders, in two months and one week I've went from none to 8 folders and the Sharpmaker with another Manix 2 Lightweight on the way. I'd say I'm pretty committed to the brand. That being said, I'm starting to wonder if...

Re: Mr. Sal, a Lil Temp 2 question
I'm new to Spyderco, this year in fact. I never had the chance to handle the original so my interest is all based on the Lil T2. I did look at the old version when I started looking at all the old designs and discontinued models when I wanted to learn more about the company and what had been produce...

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2015 report of upcoming Spyderco prototypes
Great, I can see that I won't be finishing any projects this year. If this is just a taste of what's on the way I can't wait for this weekend. So far the GB2, Ion, and Lil T2 are must haves for me. The Lil T2 is my favorite so far, it does remind me of the persistance a little but with a longer blad...

Torx screw instead of rivet for the Manix 2 Black FRCP pivot?
I've been thinking about getting another Manix 2 but the FRCP models were all rivet construction including the pivot. While looking at them again on I noticed that some dealers listed the Black FRCP model as now using a torx screw for the pivot, is this correct? The all riveted version was a no go f...

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2015 report of upcoming Spyderco prototypes
The Ion is a must have! The Southard Folder just didn't catch my interest, frame locks and a single scale on one side just aren't for me. I wanted a flipper but all the Spydies were smooth on one side, which puzzles me to no end. I want texture all the way around. Symmetry is a big deal for me too, ...

Hey Mastiff, you and Charlotte, shower toghether ? :) Nah, she likes to lay right in front of the door though. I can't tell you how many times I've tripped over her. The Mastiff is right, she won't go near a small space, except for cars. She only likes those because she gets treated to fast food wh...

Re: Amsterdam Meet 2015 report of upcoming Spyderco prototypes
I've never encountered a true self defense situation where someone could be so relaxed and laid back as to just hurt someone lightly or scare them off. Also, after working a career in prisons I can tell you rapists in showers usually aren't by themselves. My guess is that in a barracks/outpost type...

Re: Domino with "paraprofile" - new - first post
What if this were done to a Manix or Sage? I don't know how it would look but I'm thinking about doing it to one of my Manix 2s, maybe the satin one. I wonder what he used to do it? Belt sander? Bench grinder? By hand on a stone? I might do it with a stone if I did, the Manix 2s are my favorite so ...

Re: If you could bring one discontinued Spyderco back?
Wow, this took off! So the current discontinued folders that are leading seem to be (in no particular order, they have between 3 to 4 votes each so far) the Caly 3.5 in Super Blue, Rock Lobster, Breeden Rescue, Centofante 4, and the Lum Tanto Folder. I've been planning on getting a Caly 3.5 in VG-10...

If you could bring one discontinued Spyderco back?
The ATR poll thread got me thinking about all the cool Spydies that I've missed out on. I purchased my first Spyderco in January this year so I've missed a lot! I find myself looking through the discontinued section of the catalog that's on the Spyderco site often, just wishing that I'd have started...

Re: ATR Poll
I thought this was going to be "To G-10 or not to G-10, that is the question?". I'm new and I've looked over lots of old designs, the ATR was one that interested me because of how different it looked. I'm a weirdo like that I guess. Before I forget, thank you Sal for giving us newbies a re...
