what was it like around the folding pivot? my zdp-189 corrodes in that area just by staying in the pocket (sweat at work). That's the main reason why I hate non-stainless steels in folders, you have to disassemble to prevent the washers from being ruined by corrosion, but doing so voids the warranty...

Elmax and m390 are only available in models that are far more expensive than comparable ones in s30v and don't come close to offering an increase in performance that would justify the increase in cost.

Not really. S90V has more carbon and nearly twice as much Vanadium, that makes a big difference.

S90V is better

m390 is overrated, unless you want a very corrosion resistant steel that has good edge retention. Otherwise, S30V is just as good.

The HAP40 sprint is pretty much the next step on the same road that started with ZDP-189. How so? HAP40 is just Japanese M4 with a bunch of unnecessary cobalt. and how is ZDP-189 obsolete?
