Re: Cricket Lightweight
Now for the bad… the lock is horrible…. Always has been its heavy and causes excess friction both opening and closing, with multiple detents. I can agree with you, because also with my copy it is an extremely stiff and scratchy linerlock. You don't read much about cricket in aluminum construction a...

Briwax also works very well.

Re: Seki City back lock quality in 2022?
Checked my Seki K390 lockbacks. The P4lw has a small chip like in your second picture, the leafjumper and dragonfly do not. Personally, I don't see it as likely to become a functional issue and would not worry about it.

Re: Weird streaks/scratch in DLC?
DLC may not be purely cosmetic but, for many of us, S30V is sufficiently rust resistant without any coating. I have a neck knife (HAK) in S30V that I wore under my shirt every workday for 12½ years, from the time I got out of bed in the morning until I got home from work in the evening. Office work,...

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
You are absolutely right, there's no need to overthink it. Seki models seem to come at 20° or close enough to it. Some Golden models, like the Magnacut Native 5, come at 15°. So, give the edge a couple passes on the 30° side to see if you raise a burr. If no burr, switch to the 40° side and have at ...

Re: k390 serrated discontinued?
Unless you're planning to reprofile, SE K390 sharpens up without any undue effort. Personally, I like to start by giving the beveled side a couple passes on the diamond triangles before switching to the brown ones, but it isn't necessary.

Hard to go wrong with the Rockjumper, which can still be found for around $60.

Re: Upping the price.
Again, the cost of quality knives has dropped dramatically over the last decade while the cost of Spyderco has only increased. Inflation is a component but it’s a constant amongst all manufacturers. Why have Spyderco’s prices tripled instead of decreased? The availability of low cost quality knives...

Absolutely. One of my all time Spyderco favorites.
It was suggested to make a sprint of the Calypso jr FRN with the fishscale scales. Any interest?

Re: Masters of the Air
Have any of you watched Masters of the Air? This is a great show. My father flew on B17's during WWII. He would never talk about it and was angry at a lot of things they made them do. The only thing I know is that he said he survived a crash in the desert and that most of the men in his squadron di...

You're probably right. Dack is still offering a good deal on the knife, if you want one, but the current price (shown after it's in your cart) is $20 more than one month ago.

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!
Just sent a follow-up email to Dack because the website shows the Stretch 2XL Salt SE back in stock. Conveniently, two days after they wanted to cancel my order due to "an inventory discrepancy." Not accusing Dack of anything, not at this point anyway, but we'll have to see how they respon...

Re: Spyderco Models We Need In FULL SE
I've always thought the Ouroboros would have been outstanding in SE. Yeah that would have been quite interesting. I also wondered why the ARK model wasn't offered with teeth as well???? While the initial release of the ARK was PE only, a fully serrated version was produced (and then discontinued). ...
