Nice story. By the way, providing "dough and hardware" is no small thing! Both are a lot rarer than stupidity! :D
Have a good weekend,

I prefer this one. More like "home" and friendlier...if that makes any sense! Plus I can go right up top and check out some of the products that are being discussed...

Jon,
Thanks for the lead...looks interesting. I'll look closer when I have time (in a week or two). Appreciate the thought.

Sal, It is obvious that time, care and expense went into the knife and I trust you got the sense from the entries above how much we (from various parts of the globe) appreciate and respect what you and the Spyderco crew have done. The benefit transcends the dollar amount that the families receive. I...

It is great to see positive responses from outside the US to my post: Canada (3), France, and the Netherlands. It was also good to hear that Spyderco turned over $40,000 to the cause! I am sorry my wife and I couldn't make the NYC show this past weekend to give our thanks in person. I'm sure a numbe...

My wife and I visit the City often (we live about 90 miles N). When we're just going to walk around and stop for a meal or two, we generally have our Jesters with us. However, if we're not sure what we're going to do, we don't carry. Many attractions have metal detectors (e.g. Empire State Building)...

World Trade Center

I know people have probably posted on this knife already, but at the risk of being redundant, I feel compelled to write. I ordered the WTC Knife a few days ago and it arrived today. I'm born/raised in New York City...so there was something pretty personal about the WTC attack. I saved up for the kni...

A WTC Knife (truly a special order) and two Spydercards. Next week I'll be ordering a Pride (with the Mexican inset) for my godson down in Monterrey and a Jester for his mom. Known them for a long time and they were left alone when my friend died a couple of years ago. So...all-in-all a busy orderin...

Always have the Micarta Jester with me, guess it'd be my favorite and gets used more than any others (just ordered a sheath for it from Eric at On/Scene Tactical). Next - Lum Chinese Folder, which fits my hand perfectly and is designed and feels like a true "custom". Military - the hiking/...

I'd go with the lightweight. Better steel and lighter knife...in my view an unbeatable combination for serious hiking.

"Cricket" actually has nothing to do with the knife, though it was the first Spyderco I got. It was actually a play on "grasshopper" from the old Kung-Fu TV series and was given me by my teacher about 25 years ago. Right before he beat him into the wall for about the 40th time th...

Sent a Persian to my friend in Seattle. Somebody broke in and took it, leaving a Salsa and a couple of CASE knives behind. Gotta admire the thief's taste!
