Re: 2020 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!

For this year's submission, I decided to flavor my submission with some color. The vertical calendar format allows for a knife like the fantastic Spyderco 6" Utility Kitchen Knife (K04SBL) to show it's length and utility. Although Spyderco may be known best for their EDC knives, the line of kit...

Re: The C67 R: it's time to bring it back!

Fully agreed. I total agree with you Tvenuto. Sometimes to go forward, you have to go back. People are always begging for the new hotness, but there are a lot of Spydies from "back when" with great designs. The R and the Superleaf are two of my favorite folders. I've always been a fan of t...

Re: 2019 Forum Calendar Contest!

*I may change this. I'm afraid it doesn't have enough color and historically the calendar winners have had a lot more color. The goal of this submission is to celebrate the long and proud history of the Manix series. Showcased at the top is one of the best sprint runs I have seen Spyderco do, the gr...

Sage 3. That bolt action lock makes fidgeting SO fun. Any way you open it, that lock system makes it smooth as butter.

Re: Very DISAPPOINTED w/ laminated steel sprint runs

I've seen some pretty uneven ones, both personally and with friends. Last year's seconds sale, I picked up two HAP40 Enduras with pretty uneven lives from side to side, but everything else looked right on. It made me wonder if there IS a point where the factory is bouncing them to the seconds pile? ...

Spyderco blue FRN scales with new V-Toku2

I've always loved the blues that Spyderco has put out over the years in their scales. Each one is a little different shade and the latest "blue-gray" color scales of the V-Toku2 sprint runs are really fun. They have a lot of color range depending on the light, which has always made my carr...

I knew once I saw all the images together on the last day I had no chance. I'm gonna have to try harder next year to try to keep up with you guys.

Congrats to the winners, well deserved.

Thanks for the fun Kristi, it's always great to see everyone bring their best.

Re: The SPYDERENCH? A True Hidden Treasue

I have the Byrd version, and I use it constantly. Leave it to Spyderco to improve the design and function of the multitool, and still have a quality and usable blade. I know Sal has said producing them was difficult, but I know a lot of us would love to see another run someday.

Toyo: The D'Allara 3 is the third in a proud line from Spyderco.

If you'd like to read a little about the very cool history of this model, here's some info.

Re: Any XHP Sprints or exclusives planned?

The Manix 2 LW Brown scales w/XHP only just recently sold out man! Because they were a dealer exclusive and not a sprint, there were a lot, and you can still find them NIB for a decent price on the secondary market. If you like the Manix 2 platform this would be a great way to get into XHP for under...

Re: 2018 Forum Calendar Contest!

I have been a Spyderco fan and collector for a very long time, and I have enjoyed seeing Spyderco continue to evolve and embrace cutting edge  knife technologies. For me, when Spyderco released the Domino, a titanium flipper with a Reeve Integral Lock, in the exclusive blue weave carbon fiber,...

Re: Question for Sal/Taz - 2016 Coin Status?

This crossed my mind as well when I saw the 2017 coin. Have they done these before 2015? Wonder why 2016 wasn't included. There have been some coins in the past that were special for specific groups or VIPs, but as far as coins available to any Spyderco fan I believe 2015 was the first. It sounded ...

Re: D'Allara 3 bump -> The D'Allara revisited - 11 years later

I know Spyderco makes a model called the Police, but to me, this is the real police model. You make a fair point. The Police was one of the first models Sal made, and definitely one of the first that he marketed directly to the police (customers he has long established and cultivated). Many of my f...

Re: Question for Sal/Taz - 2016 Coin Status?

Here I am, bumping another thread. I'm reading in the 2017 product guide that a 2017 coin is planned, but it seems we've skipped 2016. Some of us collectors with OCD are gonna have a hard time with that gap.
