Re: DLC coated Mule, would you be interested?

I think it would make sense, assuming that a standard, larger production Mule eventually comes out (SPY-27 was discussed IIRC), to also do a DLC version for a little more just to be able to compare the two. I would rather have new steels come out without a coating unless there was a new unique coati...

I believe the speca have come up a couple of times but I don't remember the post. It was many years back.

Re: SMKW Spyderco Exclusive?

From some vague hints from an SMKW employee, it's something a bit different, though the vagueness left some room. I think they ruled out a DLC-G10 exclusive though that leaves lots of options. Will see if I can find that discussion and clarify, without linking or citing anyone specific.

Re: Was the Harpy Discontinued?

The TASMAN is a great recommendation in full SE. I would second that recommendation myself but not in plain edge. Another model to consider is the old MERLIN Hawkbill model. If you can find one of them in ATS-55 or VG-10 jump on it immediately. I really miss the MERLIN model being around. The MERLI...

Re: Was the Harpy Discontinued?

The Harpy is a great knife. If you like the FRN handles (they are grippier and lighter than the SS Harpy), check out the Tasman. I still want a PE Harpy but I have a Spyderhawk, Superhawk, Crossbill, Meadowlark Hawkbill, waved Matriarch 2 and Civilian so my itch is at least partially scratched. I sh...

Re: Short handle mule

I am happy with the full handle, but I could certainly see a shorter-handled Mule making for a more compact neck or boot knife.

Finally, I know ahead of time. Alarm set, hopefully I'll land one of these (I have a couple more things I want to buy as well).

Re: Tips for Purchasing a Mule Team!

A group of THINGS can never be a TEAM. You'd rather call that a SET. TEAMS consist of PEOPLE. But: does it really matter? I don't think so. :) Edit: I think it's like this: the knife itself is a Mule. The whole let's call it Spyderco project is called Mule Team. And so are the people involved in it...

Might have to get one of those if still available. I like H1, it's just rather soft with a plain edge.

Re: First crack at 3d printed Mule Scales

Yep, there's plenty of Analysis Paralysis inducing variety and options in 3d printing. I know some folks with Enders, and while they may require a little tweaking, they seem to be good machines. I have small kids and a rather demanding job now, so I decided it was worth it to me to pay more and spe...

Re: First crack at 3d printed Mule Scales

Definitely get one, its quite the rabbit hole to go down. I think Ender 3s are a little under $200, Ender 3 Pros a little over. PrusaSlicer is free and has Ender machine profiles, a personal use Fusion 360 license is also free. I'll put the final scale design up on Thingiverse, I was just going to ...

Re: Elastic Ceramic. Wow!

A little curious as to how a mule would work as this appears to be a pretty flexible material and is probably being made rather thin. I'm all for it though.

Re: Reveal 8 Released!

Definitely digging that SE K390 police 4 - not a lot of special SE steels. the S35VN LW Resilience should be cool as well.

Like the pottery style edge is a ghost mug and of course am interested in more Mules.

Re: First crack at 3d printed Mule Scales

This is a really nice design. I've been meaning to get a 3D printer, this is a good excuse to do so. I'm sure some variance would work better for some folks but this looks like it would make a lot of folks happy. I'd have to have it in hand but the apparant looks and ergos seems good and I like the ...

Re: Crazy Good Deals Part 2!!

Ooh, nice sale, Spydergirl88. I just picked up 4 knives in other brands for 20% off from there a week and a half ago. Very happy with my purchases, they were a good deal and at 20% off they were killer. BLUETYPEII, G and R and their 20% off sale at the end of March. I wish I'd bought both the REX45 ...

Re: MT31P - Mule Team Featuring CPM S45VN - Release Date

I have no idea how I missed this for 2 weeks. I heard about the sale a couple hours after it happened and they were gone in 15 minutes. The past 2 have been super hard to get. I think having a regular run Mule would really cut down on this but I don't know for sure. I hope so, because I'd like to be...

Re: Any chance we will ever see coated Mule?

I might be interested in getting a coasting on a Mule in time, but it defeats the purpose of the project to coat a Mule and then compare it to another uncoated (or differently coasted) mule. If we do see a steady supply in time of SPY27 or another established steel, I wouldn't mind a coated one but ...

Re: Poll: CPM MagnaCut

1 would probably be good for me, though with as little luck as I've had with the past 2 sales, I could see doing 2 if they aren't too pricy.
