Re: SpyderThrowers ETA?

Any update on when these will be available for order on Amazon and other sellers?

Been planning these as a gift, so anxious to know actual ETA. :)

Thanks!

Re: SpyderThrowers ETA?

That's awesome news! Will you guys by chance have a guide for making a backboard we can throw them at? :)

Re: Dragonfly slightly binding on opening

I've often seen this issue resolved with a water rinse and a little gun oil - I use Ballistol on guns (as a CLP - cleaner / lubricant / protectant) as well as on knives every now and then, as needed. Heck, I use it on lots of things, it just seems to work. A tiny spray around the pivot area, work it...

Re: Which three Spyderco knives for a new user?

Great question. I actually just did an in-depth write-up specifically for newbies with the factors to consider, and my top 5 favorites across the board. The top 5 contenders may surprise you. ;) Shocking fact: it's a Spyderco-heavy list lol. What’s The Best Everyday Carry Knife? Would love any feedb...

Re: Large Spyderco

I like Large blades that "carry" small, if that makes sense. It's a value thing for me... solid build, good length, great ergos, but taking as little space and weight as possible for carry. The Military is AWESOME in that respect. it's been my primary EDC for a couple years. Last year I ad...

Re: Pacific Salt One Year Later - A Big Surprise / Sleeper EDC Knife

Dan, if you were to think about it long enough, are there any ways you personally would like to see the Pacific Salt improved or is it pretty much perfect as is? Someone else in the thread mentioned they would like to see other blade grinds, such as a Full Flat Grind Pacific Salt. Donno... have to ...

Re: Szabohawk - anyone have one? Pros/cons? How do you like it?

I always thought it would be cool if the factory sheath left the butt of the 'axe head' exposed, so it could still be used for something like pounding in stakes, but still have the blade portion covered for 'safety.' ^^ YES I wish it had a safe blade cover just like that... Nice sheath! the one you...

Re: Pacific Salt One Year Later - A Big Surprise / Sleeper EDC Knife

Dan, your blog is great and your review of the Spyderco Pacific Salt is superb and amazing. Thank you, sir. You have convinced me that the Spyderco Serrated Edge Pacific Salt is the perfect knife. I have one and I exposed it to salt water tests and posted the pictures here on the forum. Not a singl...

Re: Pacific Salt One Year Later - A Big Surprise / Sleeper EDC Knife

I have to ask, why do you all like the serrated model? What do you cut with them? I believe the serrated salts hold an edge better than the PE models, something to do with the way the edge is ground causing work hardening or something (been years since i was reading up on it) Same here... in part t...

Re: Szabohawk - anyone have one? Pros/cons? How do you like it?

Hey Nick, Thanks for the great feedback. Two?! You must like it indeed. :) Sure enough, for woods work, even around the house, can't go wrong with a hefty hatchet / small axe. Unless weight is a concern lol. Recently got a forged steel Estwing 16" Camper's Axe - more of a small axe/ larget hatc...

Pacific Salt One Year Later - A Big Surprise / Sleeper EDC Knife

Folks, I've recommended the Pacific Salt to so many friends and colleagues over the past year, today I finally wrote up the way overdue review on it. I first got a Pacific Salt at the strong encouragement of Surfingringo - and I'm sure glad I tried it. To my surprise, over the past year, the Pacific...

Re: Do I need a millie?

Quick tip... the first time you handle a Military it may seem "too big". that feeling will dissipate shortly and it will quickly become "just right".

Re: Do I need a millie?

Yes, you sure do. :)

And yes the Military isn't just suitable for EDC, it's awesome for EDC. I've been EDC'ing one daily for a couple years, most excellent blade.

I also EDC a Pacific Salt Serrated as a companion serrated blade...

Re: Rediscovered the Resilience...

Not sure about adding higher-end steel to this knife...

I think Spyderco has nailed an excellent value proposition with the build and materials included currently... at $50 delivered for this knife, it's a **** good value and the reason I've bought more than few of them lol.

Indeed Ray, the Resilience is one **** of an excellent "beater" knife. I resisted using that word in the title for my Resilience review, but it was **** hard. :D

Rediscovered the Resilience...

I recently rediscovered the Resilience after quite a while, and thought I'd share... For some time now, my regular EDC has been the most excellent Military ( review here ), with a recently added SE Pacific Salt companion blade (review way overdue, coming soon). Both excellent knives, strongly recomm...
