Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Mine arrived this morning and I am very happy with it. Very true to the hand made versions I have by Farid. Shown next to the Slysz and the Serrata for size comparison, the K2 is a beast. :) Great job by both Sal and Farid. http://i669.photobucket.com/albums/vv53/drop-point/2014-10-16180717_zps4227a...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Mine is due any day now, but won't be able to get "family shots" with my other K2's till I get back home.
Definitely plan to get two though, one as a keeper and one as a user. :)

Re: Why keep baiting Cliff?

I am a little surprised at your response Cliff. Based on this, you are suggesting that most of the knife makers using anything other than properly hardened 1084 are wasting their time using other steels, and we are idiots for buying into wanting a product that utilises anything better???? In that c...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

The product speaks for itself. Is that something you can't do with properly hardened 1084? Fikes (and many others) have cut massive amounts of natural ropes, cardboard, wood, etc. with simple 1084 blades and the edge is just under shaving sharp and brought back to shaving with a few passes on a str...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

So the blade will not be something suited to stabbing correct? Before there is any confusion let me state for the record I am buying one ASAP and love the knife. Just being a Soldier in Afghanistan at the moment, any knife I carry I would like to be able to use as a get out of Taliban free card. In...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Found this pic on Bladeforums, posted by Gooeytek, in a thread called "Your-Biggest-Folder". If the production K2 is the same size as this one, its slightly longer than the Military. http://i465.photobucket.com/albums/rr11/gooeytek/knives/IMG_20130812_142452_081_zps31f2c22b.jpg The CPM-12...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Man that's a big knife. I hope the handle isn't too wide top to bottom to afford a comfy grip. I'm excited to get one, though. And you should be. This is not a knife that Sal and Farid are putting out there because they need to. The K2 has been around from Farid for a long time in a variety of vers...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Absolutly. I was simply explaining to Cliff why I like the K2 design in term of ease to clean up in case of different mess versus FRN handle. On another subjet, I just realized how BIG this knife is. At 4.52" edge length that would be the biggest folder I ever owned if I get to be lucky enough...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

Some other thing that is really sticky to the FRN texturing is expending foam used to fill some electrical pipes to prevent the cable from moving, much like what's used in house buidling. Someone asked me to cut some that expended out of a pipe after his x-acto broke trying to. The thing is, the mi...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

To me, this knife has what I want, the reliably and quality of Spyderco, the "metal head" loving side of me in the blade steel, and a great design by Farid. What's not to like? And this is a perfectly valid answer to the question! There's no shame in not absolutely functionally optimizing...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

... seeing the oposite of him this time: this design is totally great from my point of view. -The titanium handle will be a breeze to clean. Wipe it up and it's done. No need for toothbrush to clean like with FRN handle. -Wanna clean the inside? No messing with backlock spring or anything complicat...

Re: Spyderco/Farid K2

I am new to this forum, but not to knife collecting, and will definitely be buying the K2. The blade style has always appealed to me and I have the privilege of currently owning 3 K2's already, the SV-90, CPM-121 Rex and a stunning san-mai with lightning carbon fibre. I'm also on the K2 D3 list and ...
