Re: Favorite factory carbon fiber scales?

The CF texture Spyderco uses on the Chaparral is my favorite and my next favorite would be matte CF like they used on the Kiwi and Kopa. Gloss looks pretty, but tends to chip, which reduces it's appeal. None of the others appeal to me and I flat out detest peel-ply.

Re: Colors - Talkin' Story - Marketing

Have a strong preference for natural materials like wood and bone over plastics for knife scales. Perhaps that's why I prefer colors over black and colors in the "brown" family, all the way from ivory to dark chocolate more than other colors on plastic handles. That said, am far more likely to pass ...

Re: April 1 Birthdays!! Why So Many?

I think some people don't put their actual birthday in that field and just choose the 1st of the month. Some probably don't even use the correct month/year. Exactly. And given the amount of data mining that goes on, you can't blame folks for not wanting to divulge any more personal information than...

Shaman. Yawn.
DLC. Yawn.
Exclusive. Yawn.

Hard pass, but thanks anyway.

Aside from my substituting "Compression Lock" for Shaman, pretty much my sentiments exactly.

You know, think globally, act locally. Recycle people ♻️

I can think of quite a few people I'd like to see recycled. Most would make excellent fertilizer. Thankfully, none are what I'd consider "local".

Re: Boxes, package and stuff

Have well over 500 Spydercos, some purchased new, some on the secondary market. While I have no plans to sell any of them, I've kept the boxes and packaging for all that were purchased new or had those items when purchased on the secondary market. Most of the boxes are stored in a couple plastic "un...

Re: Did Any Other Member in the USA...

Thanks guys. Glad I'm not the only one who got the letter and also not the only one who got a bit anxious when he saw a letter from the IRS pop up in his daily Informed Delivery email from the USPS. :o Just to be clear: I just wanted to know if the "Economic Impact Payment" is technically the money ...

Did Any Other Member in the USA...

Receive a strange letter in the last few days from the IRS, with a "Notice Date" of Feb 18th, saying that "Your Second Economic Impact Payment" in the amount of $600 should be direct deposited in your account in the next few days? I say "strange" because those $600 checks went out in late December. ...

Re: Thumb ramp jimping poll

As a general rule, I like it, but how much will depend on both the knife and the jimping style. For example, of these three jimping styles, I have a strong preference for the one on the right, can live with the one in the middle, but would prefer no jimping to the one on the left. http://paulberetta...

Re: The Last Gun You Bought

Picked this up at my local FFL last Friday, about an hour after I got the call saying it had arrived. Would have been there sooner, but Romeo had other plans for me. It's a Langdon Tactical Beretta 92 Elite Centurion with all their bells and whistles. Ordered it from LTT back in early January so, te...

Re: Spydercos & Guns

Not really a fan of the new banner. First and foremost, regardless of what else is displayed in it, my eyes find the large splotch of bright red annoying. As for the ammo, I'll just say I'm not a fan of companies that have not shown unwavering support for the 2nd Amendment pandering to those of us t...

I'd love to see a Chaparral, Stretch II, Native, or, better yet, original FRN Stretch with a 1mm to 1.5mm blade.

Re: Blemishes? Advice Needed

I love my new Z-Wear Shaman, and consider myself lucky to have scored one, thanks to a heads-up from a member on this forum (SteelCity16). My issue (is it one?) is that my new specimen came with a scratch on the blade, and it stands out to me every time that I handle the knife. Is this something th...

I can look into it. Full flat? Steel" handle material? Bolsers? Changes? Ed's opinon? sal For me, the ideal Schempp Persian would have smooth bolsters, a full flat grind blade of VG-10 or something at least as rust resistant, polished G-10 scales (preferably affixed with screws so they could be rep...

Re: How?

One thing to keep in mind, the stock status shown on Spyderco's website only reflects the item's status at the Spyderco Factory Outlet. There may be any number of a given knife in Spyderco's warehouse, but none of them may be currently allocated to SFO. The fact that something appears "out of stock"...
