Re: Brown G-10 Stretch "Test Model" observations

Those scales look great, Paul. Can't wait to see it together. I'm assuming the knife feels a bit odd with your carry method, given it's a wee bit longer? Well Jazz, it landed here a couple hours ago. I took the photos below of it when it arrived. They don't show off the texture as well as I'd like ...

Re: Any Facebook Expert Users Here?

Hey, Paul! The feature you're describing is auto-tagging. Facebook tries to automatically tag anyone you mention (person or page), as you type. It narrows down the options as you continue to type. If you continue to type beyond a possible match for a tag, it will drop the tag. Unfortunately, you ca...

Re: Any Facebook Expert Users Here?

Are you sure it's a Facebook setting? As sure as I can possibly be, given that it only happens in Facebook, and entries in the pop-up list are always Facebook pages and users. It could be a browser setting. I'd try either Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, first. Tried both, same result. If the error...

Any Facebook Expert Users Here?

I'm pretty close to being a total dummy when it comes to Facebook. Only ever use the **** thing for my neighborhood HOA's group. Sometime in the last few months, something changed and whenever I'm making a post and type in a word that starts with a capital letter a pop-up, like the one in the exampl...

Re: VG10 Damascus ?

Since the core is VG-10, it's basically a VG-10 blade and will perform as such. So, if you like VG-10 and like the look of Japanese damascus with an extremely high contrast etch, then you'll like it. Otherwise, not so much. Personally, I love VG-10, not crazy about the look of Japanese damascus, and...

Re: Is the Respect Bowie discontinued?

If you want one badly enough, Country Knives has the Respect in stock. They're great people, but be prepared for sticker shock as they sell everything at MSRP.

Re: Folder Survey ’23 - Your Preferences Needed!

Perhaps I'm the only one, but I buy Spyderco Forum Knives because they're Spyderco Forum Knives, not because they're a model, edge type, steel, or handle material that I would carry or use. I think it would be desirable to have a Forum Knife that the greatest possible number of members here could bo...

Am I the only one excited about the orvis shirts? :rofl

No, I eagerly await them showing up on the Spyderco website. Truth is, those and the Counter Critters are about the only things in Reveal 12 that I'm interested in.

Re: What are your knife laws?

I live in South Carolina and, aside from one restricting the blade length of knives carried on school grounds, there are no state level laws regarding knives here. However, a few cities do have local ordinances restricting the blade length of knives within city limits. Can't say for sure but, since ...

Re: Have you found "the one?"

Voted "other" because I didn't find "the one", I found "the three". Stretch, preferably the original size version, has been my #1 large folder since it came out about this time 18 years ago. Kiwi in pretty much any flavor, production or customized, has been my #1 mid si...

Re: To DLC or not to DLC?

I'd have to go with "depends on the knife". To me, the only blade style that looks better in black is a double edged dagger. So, if Spyderco were to offer a PE/DE/DA OTF auto, or their take on a PE/DE fixed blade push dagger, with a DLC coated blade I'd be on it like white on rice. Otherwi...

Re: Do you use your Spyderco or just collect them?

Both. I have "several hundred" in my collection. Some are pure collectibles and have never seen the inside of a pocket. Some get carried occasionally, a couple get carried regularly, several are staged around the house and serve as letter and package openers, and my Kitchen Sharps are abou...

Re: Anyone think this is functional

As a SD tool, it's probably not very functional and, as others noted, potentially illegal. As a bottle opener, I'm fairly confident that it will open a bottle every bit as well as this $1 one.

Re: What do you se people think about crks serrations?

Looks kinda weird. Given that we're only looking at one side of the blade, is it possible that the 3 serrations where the grind in not visible are ground on the other side?
