Re: Domino Love?

Decided to call it a day by taking my BBS version and made it uniquely my own: http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac162/victor_c6/DSCN2204_zps1c18aa75.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac162/victor_c6/DSCN2192_zps3ae01fa7.jpg http://i896.photobucket.com/albums/ac162/victor_c6/DSCN2221_zpsafle2v...

Re: One More for Yojimbo2

 wow....talk about mirror! How many hours did that take? What grit? I have 2 yo2's...this is a fantastic looking mod btw! Close to 40 hours, tight grit progression using wet/dry emery - started with 80 grit, after 2000, same tight grit progression with polishing compound 30u and ended with .5...

One More for Yojimbo2

Certainly not an original mod idea. I am happy finally got it done! Re: The stainless clip

Bought 6 Casey Lynch's deep carry Ti clips. Reasonable price, very nice clips and while in pocket, makes the knife hardly noticeable - but problem I had was with the difficulty to remove from pocket. Experience taught me appreciation of original clip. Off they went! As with the overall Spyderco desi...

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics

I have as well on my motorcycles, both '80's vintage Colnago and Guerciotti 12 speed road bikes for many years. Experimented with many other lubs, then stuck with Breakfree CLP. I've found it to be the longest lasting among many thin viscosity lube, it also out performed the thicker 80 wt. Nano Oil....

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics

How well does that Christo Lube stuff in the syringe flow? In other words, can you squirt some into the pivot area of a knife and expect it to flow in a ways to do its work, or do you really need to disassemble the knife to get it exactly where you want? I don't use original syringe what Christo Lu...

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics

CRK use relabled Christo Lube and with great success. Fairly expensive, depending on where you get it, price range from $7 - $15 for a meager .5g. It came with my Insingo, then, try them on my collection, ranging from Spydercos to Rocksteads. Compared to my "other" common lubes, Breakfree ...

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics

I hear you guys on the oil. I'm reluctant to use it on most of my knives, but I may start with this one. You guys are right about the oil escorting rust out, what little is left in there is still coming out brown so it still needs to be cleaned out more. After looking at the insides under a microsc...

Re: Southard Pivot Bearing Rust w/ Pics

Under the best scenario, the resulted "wear" between two moving parts "interface" over time without lubricant is not a pretty sight! Certainly washing without drying will induce more problems than good with moisture. Inducing polishing compound, essentially an abrasive, will not ...

Re: Toothpaste for stiff pivots.

Hi folks, I read on this forum that if you havea stiff pivot, perhaps a new knife that isn't yet broken in. A way of making the pivot smother is to put a little toothpaste on the pivot and work the blade back ond forth a bit. As the toothpaste is mildy abrasive, it can help to wear in the pivot, th...

Re: Brous Spyderhole?

Spyderco was in existence long before I bought my first - back in 1994. Patent Right on the Spyderco "Hole" has long been expired. If anyone use the Spyderco hole design, I think it is the highest compliment to the originator - much the same as for the RIL framlock design, which so commonl...

Re: Brous Spyderhole?

Just an FYI for those not aware that Brous Blade has a tinted reputation for copying design from other makers. And is permanently banned from one of the leading and certainly, exclusive hardcore forum. That said and reputation did not deter me from buying the Brous Silent Soldier Framelock Flipper 1...

Re: Saga on BBS Domino Transformation

Hey Victor, great job on your Domino :) Are you planning on changing the blue g10 scale as well, maybe some carbon fiber? :p As to the G10 scale, I don't have plan on changing to CF - I like both equally. **** ohcyclist: Ti handle was done in an afternoon, including flame ano. Blade took close to 4...

Re: The Para 2 should only use black clips?

i recently grabbed a murdered out black/DLC and a digicam satin from the brick and mortar. All I can say on the difference between the two is I hate the shiny clip. When I pass a mirror it jumps out at me like a beacon. I am thinking about ordering a black clip just to remedy. I remember thinking t...
