Re: 2019 seconds sale
I haven't been active lately, but I'm still a big Spyderco fan and wish I could make it to the sale this year (I'll still be in the Northeast at college during the sale). I noticed this in the email sent today: No pre-purchase trading – Why would someone “hoard” a product? So they can leverage their...

Re: 2020 Spyderco Forum Calendar Contest!
My entry shows the Spyderco Lil' Lionspy, C181GTI, in the window of a truck while "spying" on wild African lions in Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania, Africa. In the background is a wild male lion that was sleeping in the middle of the Crater during the hot part of the day. He happened to raise ...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Long time since I posted, but still loving my Spydercos. Here's a Native 5 in my hand at the summit of Mount Aconcagua on December 16th. Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Americas, at 22,841 feet above sea level in the Argentine Andes. The snowy peak to the left is the south summit, a couple hund...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
Thanks Hopweaver, and congrats to remnar--your Kopa looks great.
This week's entry is the Southard with some similar browns just outside the obscure Cache La Poudre Wilderness of northern Colorado. I've been having fun with the warm tones lately.

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
awesome! How is it on top of the volcano? I grew up in Mexico City, and when the air was clean (almost never), with no smog you could see both the Popocatepetl and the Izta towering majestically on the horizon... It was great, here's a trip report with some pictures. https://www.14ers.com/php14ers/...

Re: Spyderco Photo of the Week Contest!
I got this Magnitude at the Seconds Sale, and I think it is really under appreciated here on the Forum. I rarely see it in pictures or hear about it; I don't know why, as the ergos are amazing, the action is perfect, the carbon fiber is beautiful, and the blade shape is unique and functional. It's j...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
I remember one of my first top end Spydercos in September 2005 was the Military Model C36GPSE with G-10 Handle and ComboEdge S30V steel for $103.09 shipped. Now, the PlainEdge C36GPE with G-10/S30V is $160.77 and soon to be $174.18! Yes, and you could get a pound of potatoes for 2 cents in 1913. No...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
And / or line thy Spyderpac with tin foil and realize that no one actually needs a high-quality knife. We're in pursuit of a luxury, claiming it costs too much. It's not like they raised the price on water, or bread, or even electricity for that matter. Originally, I was skeptical of this increase, ...

Re: MAP policy change? 35%
It's all cool as long as factory seconds stay cheap, and rare models are more fun to chase than current ones anyway. :D I can't pronounce a real judgement without more facts. I always thought that "MSRP" was rather dumb anyway, because no one actually buys any regular Spyderco at MSRP, so ...

Re: Spyderco Factory Outlet Seconds Sale 2017
A few favorites are the Advocate (a steal at $60), the Magnitude, the wood and Hap40 Delica, and the 40th Anniversary Native. The best deal for me was probably actually the NIB overstocks, ($90 Vrango, $75 Firefly, $125 Southard). I also won a free black Dog Tag (NIB) for correctly guessing that Spy...
