Re: St. Nick’s Exclusive red and black Goddard!

Those who have one inbound but haven’t handled the model before, it has a weird blade to handle ratio that bothered me when the OD green came out but doesn’t bother me at all now. I actually appreciate the handle as a user now and have let many of my OCD tendencies go, choosing to appreciate models...

Re: Is it getting close to a new Goddard sprint run?

There are some challenges to a Goddard "Sprint". The original tooling for the FRN model is old and outdated. The original was made with Micarta, bit the Micarta didn't do a good job at holding clip screws. We could do a sprint in Micrta or G-10, but we'd have to use skeletonized liners to...

Re: SMKW and Spyderco Shot Show

Oh sweet baby Jesus, get in my pocket. I don’t know if it will get more pocket time than my tanto but it will be nice to see. I’d love to see a harpoon shaped blade on a pm2 as well.

Re: Is it getting close to a new Goddard sprint run?

Sak, thank you for taking the time to entertain the idea of bringing this gem back. While I would not turn down a linered version of a Goddard one of the things that kept me coming back to it over the past 25 years is the lightweight aspect of it and adding liners would take away from that. That bei...

Is it getting close to a new Goddard sprint run?

What are the chances that we can see a new C16 lightweight from seki anytime soon? I think it would look/perform great in that K390 blue.

Re: Stretch XL discussion

I’ve been carrying this guy all weekend. This guy is super lite, I haven’t carried any of the newer salts but I have carried endura 3s and the goddard lightweight and it’s much closer to that than the weight of an endura 4 or stretch. The swell of the handle fits my hand better than an endura 4 but ...

Re: bevelled Spydie hole?

I’ve noticed it also depends on the blade grinds as well for ffg the hole is angled with the blade grind. For some with a saber the hole feels different. I can’t tell if I like a chamfered hole like early spydercos or not due to the models that I have having a smaller diameter spydie hole.

Re: Spyderco Models From 2010 & Earlier That You Wish To Return

Large Goddard Compression centofante (I think it was called the Vesuvius) Large Lum I would love another opportunity to buy the HAP40 Lum Tanto that BladeHQ had. EDIT: I just realized after posting this how similar the profile is between the Goddard and Siren. I can’t post a picture right now but t...

Thread necromancy aside, I feel like a Para3 Lightweight Salt (in LC200N) would scratch a lot of this itch. I very much hope that's in the works.
I totally read that in your voice. In general, more steel options for the para 3 lightweight would be sweet without needing to buy multiple para 3s.

Clipitool standard question for Sal or anyone in the know

The main blade on the clipitool standard is a liner lock, but does it still have a backspring similar to the liner lock victorinox? If so does that mean I can pull the liner and make the mainblade a slipjoint?
