Re: Chubby vs. Techno

Just received my Chubby a couple days ago. First impressions: It's pretty stiff (No pun intended!) It's starting to break in slowly, but at first it was nearly un-flickable without copious amounts of wrist. The lock bar is hard to engage without a cut out and has tore up my thumb nail a bit already....

Re: k2 or slysz bowie

The Bowie is about as flawless as a production folder could come! But if you're looking for a large folder, K2 may be your cup of tea. It's huge!

Re: 2014 Spyderco Knife of the Year!!

My vote would have to be the Slysz Bowie. Followed closely by the Rubicon which I am still getting to know. It's been a fantastic year for new Spydies!! Looking forward to the DogTag, Chubby and K2 in 2015. And hopefully the Spydechef!! Keep Marcin's designs comin!

Re: Proposal: Spyderco Midtechs

I love this idea!! To be fair, I have seen some reasonably priced BM gold class stuff. And some of those gold class knives hold their value really well. And they're beautiful. I'm imagining a $500 or 600 Taichung or Golden beauty using LSCF, timascus, exotic stabilized woods, copper, damasteel (or o...

Re: Rubicon has dropped!!

I am so excited for both these knives!!! I've got a Domino in the mail to satisfy my wait that I thought was going to be a bit longer. Lots like the Domino may be headed wayside after a little fondling!

Re: One way to determine which knife is your favorite

There's a couple knives I refuse to sell, even in dire circumstances. Techno is one. And i'm pretty sure the Slysz Bowie is one, so far. If you won't, can't bring yourself to sell it, then you've found a real winner!

Re: Pricing...huh?

Thank you Mr. Janich! I wouldn't ever have thought that Spyderco decided to tack on an extra $60 to the Bowie for profits sake. I trust and I think most of us trust the pricing structure in which Spydies are able to come into our lives is fair and is based wholly on their production costs. My Slysz ...

Re: Would you rather have...(quantity vs quality)?

Two high end Spydies…Slysz Bowie and K2! Which is exactly what I'm doing with my spare $500!

Re: Slysz Bowie!

Mine is on the way now!! I'm pretty excited about this one! Priciest Spydie so far. I'm assembling the all Ti frame-lock crew from small to huge: Techno, Slysz Bowie, Ti Millie and the K2. Next paycheck, the K2 will be heading my way!

Capitol presence?

Apparently a man jumped the White House fence and entered the West Wing carrying a knife on Friday. Why was it appropriate to name the maker and model? Is that standard protocol? What do members make of the situation?

Re: Techno ordered

My favorite Spydie owned thus far. Never leaves my pocket. So well built. So well finished. Retains razor status for what seems like months. Aesthetics galore. It's definitely small. Throw a lanyard and a bead on it. You may find it's not spectacular at cutting apples as the blade stock is thick and...

Re: Slysz Bowie!

Stoked!!!! Whichever one drops first will be the one I buy! I like that the K2 has less hardware on it but I think I'd prefer the carry size of the Bowie more. Hafta wait and see!

The Taichung models are just incredible. Cheers to the folks that put those things together. I would agree with the Seki knives being of lesser F&F than Golden and Taichung. I've had two slightly off center Spydies. Both came from Japan. But i love them both and centering, as long as it's not ru...
