Chuck what happened? Haha. How'd you get all that rust? Just saying screw it? :p
Nice pickup! These and the 3 are still out there!

Nice! I definitely feel that I'm over thinking it. Basically, keep the blade clean, wipe it on my pants after normal use and wash and dry after food prep correct? And rust SHOULDN'T form. If it does, just pencil erase it? Reason I'm thinking about it so much is I live on an island so I'm near the oc...

I've heard that tuff glide on the blade prevents patina, but it shouldn't be used for food prep. I'm just not going to worry about it. I'm just going to use it, keep the pivot, tang oiled with mineral oil and keep it clean. Every night or a couple nights, I'll check the blade and use a pencil eraser...

Distinguishing Super Blue colors and rust and pitting
I'm a noob when it comes to carbon steel :( can anyone explain the differences in the colors of SB and how to tell if it's really rust or pitting? What will it look like? I've tried searching but haven't found any pictures of rust on SB. I have seen some great patinas, but some of them have some red...

Best method to apply mineral oil?
Hey guys, started using mineral oil for lube on my knives since I occasionally use them for food prep. I'm a complete noob at lubing, but with my SB sprints coming, I need to master it :p What are your methods for apply lube that doesn't come in a nifty squirt bottle or whatever? When I try and appl...

Can a strop replace using a Sharpmaker or another sharpener?
Hi guys, I've sharpened blades in the past to some pretty decent results. Usually I sharpen when I'm bored or I feel the blade needs it. I've thought about getting a strop, but was wondering if I could replace a sharpener with it for everyday touchups. For example, when I get a new knife, for instan...

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead...but I just loved this review. Really brought out the beauty of this knife. I actually have two of these myself that I am going to gift to a friend. They hardly saw use but I found a vendor that still has these available and I want to start fresh with one ...

It's not weird that that Pingo took your breath away. I wouldn't call you crazy or picky. I don't know how much your Pingo is moving, but as Deacon stated, my are solid. Welcome to the forum and we hope you enjoy your new Spydies. Thanks! I definitely do and will. I've been playing with it just to ...

Haha thanks. I might actually just use this one and have the others as backups or part of a rotation. It still cuts, still closes, still opens. I guess I can just call the voided warranty, and minor issues that I'm picky about part of it's character :p Now the question is, am I crazy for being this ...

Hi Mcb, Welcome to our forum. sal I am honored by your welcome Sal! Thanks for everything! Thanks for the replies guys. I tried to tighten the pivot, even disassembled and reassembled and still having the play. Having read a bunch of reviews on the Pingo and all have said they have experienced no p...

Pingo! Oh my! A couple questions/concerns though...
I've been a Spyderco fan for quite some time now. Only twice have I unboxed a knife and felt utter joy, excitement, a gasp and a plain wow. The first was my Techno. The beefy awesomeness and craftsmanship was out of this world to me at the time. The other time was with the Pingo, last night. The utt...
