A great visit to Golden

So I took the time while on a trip to Denver, CO to drive out to Golden and visit the Factory Outlet. I was looking forward to handling a lot of knives and picking one up as a souvenir when I got there. Gail Glesser was in the show room and though I hadn't met her before she introduced herself to me...

Forum Name: bakergh Model Name: Manix 2 XL S90V Story: I am an forever tinkering with things. I frequently have an idea stuck in my mind and the only way I can get it out is to see if I can build it. It seems that the brilliant minds at Spyderco may share this trait. I love my manix 2 xl and I feel ...

Manix XL gets my vote as well. It's a great knife. For general camping and food prep I would take my Military over either my PM2 or my Manix XL.

Failed Calendar Contest Pics?

Anyone have any pics they took for the calendar contest that just didn't work out? I like to try my hand at photos from time to time and I had a great idea for the calendar contest. I tried take a closeup of one of my knives through the scope of rifle and call it "On the hunt" or something...

I've been meaning to get a SE H1 knife for a couple of years now. Seems there's always something fancier grabbing my money up, but this thread has helped me make up my mind. My next knife will be a tasman salt. I might make it the knife I buy from the factory store when I go visit Golden next month!...

I find the compression lock way easier to close with my left hand than a right-handed liner lock. It just took some time to get used to.

After recently acquiring a Para2 and a Military I'm amazed at what incredible slicers they are. They glide through things like magic. I have other knives just as sharp, with FFG's and even thinner spines (manix 2) but for some reason the PM2 and Millie are like lasers through everything they touch. ...

I recently picked up an emerson endura and it's one SOLID knife. It's been my goto knife for construction type work when I am afraid I might damage my higher end knives. It's been great though the other day I dropped it and it landed square on it's tip on concrete. I have to figure out how to repair...

I love my 204p sprint and buy most of my knives from Roger. I'll be saving my discretionary funds for his fairly priced yojimbo exclusive later this year. That's a free market, supporting who you like. I will continue to support Roger. Yeah buddy. I met Roger and MCM at the Blade Show last week. Gr...

I'm a software engineer. I like to use a .net stack for the most part but node.js might be changing that soon. I've recently replaced SQL server with Mongodb for use as a data store with MVC backend and knockout.js on the front end on my latest project. It's a refreshing change for me. I've built in...

Are the holes for pin 1 and pin 2 to be used for holding the lock spring in place? Yes. Placing the new pin would be crucial to assuring a strong positive lock. Getting this right would be essential. I don't see why you would need the parts kit. I may be missing something. I wouldn't need the parts...
