Re: Sharpmaker scratched blade.

Sharpening is scratching metal and removal of metal. Most people put a 40 degree micro to make the edge stronger. You got the grind, the bevel, the micro bevel that creates the edge. When using the sharpmaker I usually go 30 first and 40 second everytime I am sharpening or touching up. Some blades I...

Re: Am I the only one who always goes back to the Delica?

Yes I also can relate to the "it factor" I like the Delica but for me its the Endura also. Its my knife the knife. I probably got enough spyderco knives to carry a different one every week of the year. Some great models like the Para2, native5, mili, dgf, manix2, etc. But the Endura4 is my...

Re: Spyderco slip its are growing on me

Well the gray is a hollow grind serrated BD1 with forked spring. The black FFG BD1 droppoint also has the forked but feels tighter on the spring.

A+ on that outlook UKE, great information and comparisons. Beautiful pictures great detail. Love the Roadie my favorite non-pocket clip knife. Got the black waiting on the red one. Great thread my friend.

Well also on the spyderco slip-it fever just got an instant UKPK collection 5 of them. But ordered a byrd tern another slip joint from spyderco and also a Tenacious in SE, this is my 3rd Tenacious I just really like that knife. So I should get the tern and tenacious by friday. I need to stop and sav...

Re: Spyderco slip its are growing on me

Well I got my UKPKs had the black drop point PE. I recently got the black leaf shape PE, the blue, maroon and gray. Only the blue and the maroon are Gin 1 and have the old springs. The gray and the 2 blacks got the BD1 and the fork springs. All awesome knives never had one in Gin1 and I will check o...

Re: Spyderco Kitchen Cutlery

I like Spydercos kitchen knives, the flex is minimal and you want something thin in the kitchen, less resistance. I find myself using a victorinox chinese cleaver for chopping vegetables, its pretty large and thin excellent for anything that needs a fast chop. But the chefs knife is king in the kitc...

Re: Poll - More Cru-Wear?

Got a Mili and Manix2 I really like the steel better than S30V and S110V, haven't carried M4 long enough to compare. I would not mind a para2 or a UKPK or a native5. I would get them all.

Re: Need Help!

The GB is a tank heavy duty knife and as a back up I would go with a DGF g10. The Endura and the Delica are great knives but you can get them anytime. The GB is coming out with a updated design so get it while you can.

Could the springs just be swapped or there are some modifications to tang also. If its just swapping I could call Spyderco HQ to send me some.

Re: Spyderco slip its are growing on me

Well I hope the blue, the maroon and the gray UKPK knives I just ordered have the updated spring. Oh and just for kicks all 3 are fully serrated spyderedge. The two black(drop point and leaf blade) are PE. I will have to check for that fork updated springs on them.

Re: Another full SE question....

Either H1 or VG10 will work great thats my experience, I like my Endura better than my pacific due to liners. But prefer the weight of the salt1 over the Delica. So its all just a matter of taste but I think you cant go wrong with either steel. Just recently got a serrated vg10 dragonfly and its awe...

Re: Spyderco slip its are growing on me

I really like the looks of the drop point UKPK also, but I wonder about accidently having a non-locking blade close on my fingers. Wish I could try out a UKPK, but I have not been able to find any in my area. Prices are very nice on this knife, which I think is a perfect size for pocket carry. My t...
