Re: Have recent releases confused you?

I feel the Smock proves you wrong. A second batch came and went as quickly as the first, and popularity was known. Compare that to the Chinook 4 or other regular production collaborations, that came and were there to stay. I suspect the distribution/stock strategy changed together with the reveal i...

Re: Have recent releases confused you?

Yea the opfocus program has been pretty frustrating. I've been calling every other week trying to get multiple different knife models and none of them are available. It's hard to be a benefit/appreciation for military and first responders if the knives are never in stock. At first I was frustrated ...

Re: Have recent releases confused you?

The other very confusing thing to me is that the Bento Box Shop exclusives take months to sell out, but the DLT and BHQ exclusives sell out in under 5 minutes. I mean I know Bento Box is vilified on here and they change for shipping, but the Delica is a pretty good deal even after shipping, and the...

Re: Have recent releases confused you?

I'm hoping I can snag one of the AEB-L Urbans from the SFO (OpFocus program). If not, I'll just wait for a production knife that I want to come in stock, like the Para 3 LW or the upcoming Sage 5 LW. I remember that the Caribbean, and the Native 5 Salt were pretty scarce when they were initially rel...

Re: Boye Dents on Backlocks? Yes or No?

I'm really indifferent. I think most knives look better without the dent, but I like the idea of a tactile reference point.

Re: Can We Please Have a PM2 with CBBL or a Pin and Springs Lock?

I don't call it the Axis because I don't wanna just talk crap about benchmade/griptillian etc, and more importantly I'm pretty sure they can't call it an axis lock in their advertised specs. So I gave it a generic name. Pin and springs lock sounds about as generic as it gets I'm not a big fan of th...

Re: ready for a new native

I'm kinda torn on this. I agree that a comp lock and wire clip would be really close to the Sage 5. I also like how all but the blurple G10 / S110V Natives have gone liner-less with thread inserts to mount the clip screws. I wish the N5 LW would use the same hole pattern as the G10 N5, so I could pu...

Re: The Wire Clip: express your love, hate, indifference

The wire clip is the only factory deep carry option. I don't like having to pay an extra $25 to get an aftermarket deep carry clip made from titanium, when a $10 steel clip from the factory would be just as functional. So, I've learned to like the wire clip. I also like that the wire clip doesn't sc...

Re: Help convince me that FRN handles are better than they look..

Maybe I should adjust my bad attitude. I have already said that I am convinced that FRN is an entirely satisfactory material engineering-wise. I just have reservations about the appearance. But if you avoid pink, blue, such and go with black or grey, that is actually just fine. And what we really w...

yeah.. thanks all.. Time to buy and try.. Dragonfly, perhaps? or?? I do prefer smaller knives for EDC
Chaparral LW. Thin, barely longer than a D'fly closed, and that thin CTS-XHP blade makes it a great slicer.

Re: Help convince me that FRN handles are better than they look..

FRN/FRCP may flex a little without liners (depending on the model) but they won't break. John Shirley, Spyderco ARK co-designer, carried a Manix 2 LW on at least one overseas deployment. He has nothing but good to say about that knife. If you want thin and slicey with a great steel, grab a Chap LW. ...

Re: D2 Steel Again: What should one expect from its properties?

I'll accept D2 from a known, good maker. Custom D2 fixed blades etc. Currently have an LT Wright, an Ohta, and a Benchmade in the steel; I've had others, like most people here. I've not sharpened the Ohta, but the LT and Benchmade don't sharpen terribly. Reprofiling isn't the easiest but also not t...

Re: Spydercos best "bang-for-the-buck" - knife?!

I think the Chap LW is the best value in a Spyderco for the reasons already listed. I don't think the Delica and Endura are the values they used to be. I also think the Tenacious is beaten out by some competitors.

Re: Why put liners in the Delica?

Just curious, what do you guys do that require so much corrosion resistance? Apparently I have fairly corrosive sweat. And I'm a bit rotund. And I live in Southern Indiana, where it gets rather hot and humid in the summer. So, my body size and the climate where I live cause my pores to output quite ...

Jut wondering if anyone has the canon PowerShot camera
Which one? PowerShot is Canon's name for all of their P&S cameras. There's also not a Canon P&S that's pocket sized and has a viewfinder.

Thanks for the suggestions but I think I am looking for something that I can put in my pocket But I am not going to be to be to picky because I just started looking so I think what I want I don’t know if it exists. Anyways I might be leaning towards canon because I am already used to it . Sorry for...

be prepared to see some logical gymnastics. it’s the same with the shaman. some people are more than happy to justify the prices that don’t seem to make sense. honestly, i don’t understand most of the prices, but there are a few models that are well worth their cost. at least there’s no argument th...
