Fillet knife- Mora or Rapala

Looking for a <25 dollar fillet knife. Usually use Amazon prime. Between either the Mora or Rapala fish n fillet with the wood handle. Does anyone have first hand experience with either. I am looking for a thin flexible blade. The ability to get sharp on cheap sharpeners(all I have). I feel like I ...

Re: How much can a DF2 handle?

I have a 1st Gen dragonfly I bought used and carried for years, and still do. It has a broken tip. One day I had to use it to cut many 250lb zipties from around canvas bags and on metal poles. That put a lot of pressure on the pivot. It doesn't have any blade play, which is good since it has a non ...

Re: hawkbill dragonfly

JD, ease of carry. I don't have an issue with the larger Hawks either, but smaller ones are simply easier to carry. Since so many people prefer hawkbills as a secondary blade, having that be a smaller knife can make sense.

Is there a term for?

Is there a term for when you bring your light duty edc and get absolutly burned by the amount of work you have to do.

Examples. Only had my opinel and had to score and cut drywall for volunteering with some guys building walls.

Or another time cut all these 500lb zip ties off of these countless ...

Re: A return to simplicity

I dont think liners add to the complication of a knife. Especially if dissassembly voids the warranty. I would think a bbl would be the complicated part as far as knife parts go.

I really like simple blade shapes, they are the most useful to me. The simple sak penblade or the mercator.

Cold steel tuff lite would be an example. I think most people dont care or know about blade length laws. The ones who do care arnt the ones society should be restricting..

Re: High end Tenacious

Somewhat similar to this idea would be the sanrenmu 710 and sebenza.

I end up using my budget 8cr knives much more and I dont have a high end sharpener, if I owned both I would probably always carry the budget one.
