Re: designs - evolution - lifting

Hi Sal, Honing a design which has been improved over the course of many years takes money, time, skill, and dedication. This surely is the case for the hourglass clip we've all come to know and love. Simply lifting this design without any notice, consent, or agreements in place is rather tasteless i...

Re: Older box is better

Darn. You could have had mine. But all my boxes get thrown in the trash. My knives and guns get used, so boxes are just clutter. I keep mine in storage for possible resale with the knife and because I just like keeping them (so I'd assume someone else would like them included). But seeing how I own...

Re: Older box is better

I like the look of the older white ones with the blue graphics as well. Including a little pamphlet on other models is something I'd definitely like to see return for the more popular models; It'd help newcomers to the hobby/brand get a glimpse of other models as well :) (then again, we have YouTube...

Re: Looking for anyone in the US who isn't getting a BladeHQ Dodo

Thanks for the PM's guys! :D Still no day and time yet? Man, this one is taking forever. :( Looks like some fellow members may be willing to help out. Hope you are able to get one! Yeah, this one seems to take a bit longer than most of their exclusives. Then again, I don't mind all too much in this...

Looking for anyone in the US who isn't getting a BladeHQ Dodo

As the title states, I’m on the lookout for someone from the US who won’t be getting him/herself the upcoming BladeHQ M4 Dodo. Some of you may know BladeHQ only accepts credit cards as a payment method and I simply don’t have one nor do I know anyone in my direct surroundings who does. (they’re not ...

Re: Lost knife

Ouch... Sorry to hear that.
Never had this happen to me with a Spyderco, but losing a Victorinox Huntsman Plus over a decade ago still annoys me.

(if you got there by car, it might be worth checking under the seats; I've read about several people finding their lost knife under there)

Re: Regrinding the Nirvana?

There has to be something corrosive down in the pores that hasn't come off yet. It needs a good detergent soap and hot water wash followed by drying then sealing the air away by a good wax like Rennisance wax. I've been hearing a lot of good things about renaissance wax; might have to give that a g...

Re: Regrinding the Nirvana?

Carry a $500 knife? Like to use it? It’s your knife, but the best case is it doesn’t get stained, scratched, lost, etc. Or — God forbid — taken by the TSA. I get that some people really enjoy the craftsmanship in knives at this price point. I get it. But unless the price just isn’t something you th...

Regrinding the Nirvana?

I reckon I should just accept the fact that my Nirvana is doomed to show more and more (surface) rust. All of my Spydies are cared for and not even my M4 models have ever shown a speck of rust. I know others have complained about similar issues when using their Nirvana for a little while, so I've ke...

Re: BladeHQ M4 Jade Dodo

As some of you might've seen, I asked for help in picking up this sweet little sprint. MacLaren was kind enough to reach out and get an extra one to ship my way upon release :) Seems like BladeHQ is limiting sales to 1 per customer... (didn't notice the warning before, so this might've been a recent...

Re: Really Spyderco ... 5.2 oz for the Emphasis ?!

I prefer carrying a somewhat hefty knife like the original Kris/Persian, Sage 4, LionSpy, Mamba, etc. over lightweights.
Long story short, I'm probably getting one (Efficient hasn't arrived yet, so don't have any baseline yet).

the checkering alone on the police model is impressive and must have taken forever.

Glad you like them!
And yeah, checkering by hand is a good way to spend quite a lot of time! :p
