If you’re interested in what is possible with titanium in a folding knife, do check out Snecx on Instagram.

Re: Thoughts on titanium scales
I've never really considered handle material as the primary decision point, as it's largely pre-determined by lock style and design intent (no one is making a titanium-scaled fixed blade are they?). That being said, I eschewed titanium framelock flippers for a a long while as they have saturated the...

Re: What "Other" is in your pocket???
The Sinkevich 0470 is the only ZT I’ve ever been interested in and now actually have. God have mercy on my wallet if Spyderco’s collab was this model with a Spydeyhole instead of flipper.

Re: Bradley Bowie
I got one when it first came out, largely because I love the way it looks and it generally has the right size to be a one-knife option. F/F was great out of Taichung as usual. That swedge clip is very beautifully executed and adds even more robustness to the tip/taper. The handle is very comfortable...

Really looking forward to this one. Here's the original concept thread from Australian Blade Forums, where Sal initiated the wide ranging discussion about what features people would want in an Australian specific model. https://www.australianbladeforums.com/vb4/spyderco-knife-discussion/32112-dedic...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
Does the Smock clip truly need 3 anchor screws? If you go with two (or even one, like the Hanan) in a recess, it should be sturdy enough. This would allow for the clip to be used for left-hand carry, and maybe push the clip closer to the end. Alternatively, standard clip + lanyard post instead of ho...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
does anyone remember a slipit prototype posted by the designer on the forum I want to say in 2016 that had green g10? It was meant to be a food prep knife I think. I for the life of me can't remember the designer's name or the name of his prototype but it reminds me of the Alistair Phillips posted ...

Re: Spyderco Amsterdam Meet 2018 Report
The Sabotage looks like a baby folding machete!
I also really like the manufacturing idea of G10 over Ti-liners instead of a straight up RIL -- more cost-effective sculpting, colour accent options/customizability.

Re: Recommendation: companion fixed blade for piggy back
Well, I returned the FFR. I thought it could double as a camp/bushcraft option + edc fixed blade. Unfortunately it was too long to pocket (and belt carry regularly) so I’ve opted to split the two requirements. The Ultra-Lite Bushcrafter just came back up so I will get one of those for the piggyback....

You’ll have to wrap the img tag stuff with URL tags.

Most image hosting sites provide share links that handle this for you. Your first image did it perfectly.

Re: Gayle Bradley 2 - So close to perfection...
Aesthetically, I probably agree with the OP. Freehand sharpening a poorly realized plunge grind into ricasso/sharpening choil is also a bit of a pain. Practically speaking, I never really use the heel of a folding knife's cutting edge for anything anyway, so while I understand the frustrations of th...

Re: EDC Fixed Blade Discussion
One of the reasons I moved to fixed blade EDC is stuff like this. I go camping very frequently, often times twice a week. While I was out last night getting prepared to cook dinner I came across a stump of perfect fatwood. This stuff takea a flame so well. Instead of having to walk back to camp for...

Re: EDC Fixed Blade Discussion
!! at 2mm stock, that'll be a pretty tall order; it might be transparent in the middle! My littlest folder is a hollow grind and it's about 2.25-2.3 mm, and I think the Chris Reeve Mnandi is thereabouts as well.xceptnl wrote: I'm hoping to talk him into a high hollow grind

Re: EDC Fixed Blade Discussion
Planning on... 2mm stock, FFG 3" blade and a full 3 finger grip, much like a Caly 3 in proportion. Hollow pins & I'm not sure about handles yet. I'm super excited to get one of his pieces after 8 years of procrastination. This is a good plan. It's hard to find a small production fixed blad...

Re: EDC Fixed Blade Discussion
I really like the idea of a fixed blade for EDC, even in the office. I've tried the Featherweight Fox River out in pocket carry for a couple of days and while it is perfectly sized for its intended uses and super comfortable, it is unfortunately too long with the default sheath in pocket carry, and ...

Re: January Spyderbite Discussion
Bigger bearings and thicker washers are the way to go here. Not sure why the bearing cage needs to be phosphor bronze though... The old plastic ones were seen as cheap and weak by some and I would imagine they could potentially warp or somehow prevent a bearing from rolling. These shouldn't cause a...
