Re: Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

they can take any folder even if its stiff as heck they will open it 80% of the way and flick the rest and its still considered illegal to bring in. Law is wack. We are allowed to have them but we are not allowed to bring them in from across the border. Yet our knife dealers and suppliers are able ...

Re: Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

I’ve lost knives at secondary inspection in Blaine. Twice. If you bring a knife, don’t take anything you can’t afford to donate to a Canadian trash bin. What knives were they? Delica and a backlock buck knife. Both can be opened one handed. They take the buck knife and grab by the bladed and whip o...

Re: Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

That's what I am hearing. They are grabbing everything except possibly a Scharade Ol Timer with a 2" blade. They'll grab a Buck 110 because you can hold the blade and flip it open with one hand. Flippers, forget it... I'm worried about taking a Delica or Endura/ I believe they will confiscate t...

Re: Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

I've never carried a knife and considered it as a weapon. It's a pocket knife to me or a camp knife. Been that way since Cub and Boy Scout days. If I were attacked I wouldn't even think of it to tell ya the truth. Two reasons for that I suppose, one, I carry a snubby, two, the knife I usually carry ...

Re: Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

I'm going to be in an 5th Wheel RV. The only folders I would consider bringing are my Salts, Para2 and Military.

Crossing the Canada Border with a knife?

I've been looking at the Canadian knife laws. The seem murky at best. There are some incidents of almost anything being confiscated by customs through the Post. Has anyone had an issue with knives like Para2's, Pacific Salts, or Military's while crossing the Border? I would like to Fish my way to Al...

Re: Southfork or Sprig or both?

Needless to say I am pretty excited about the Sprig. I don't know the release date but I got mine not too long ago so hoping they will be out for the Shot Show. I think you all will like the edge geometry and combined with S90V they will serve a large variety of tasks including kitchen work. Sprig ...

Re: Southfork or Sprig or both?

The Southfork is quite a bit difference in thickness between the Phil and the Spydie versions.

Re: Phil Wilson fillet knife review.

I am waiting for my Sprig to get released, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

But in the meantime, I started looking for a good Fillet knife and found the info about this knife. I think I'm bitten by the bug on this.

Re: Laci Szabo very Tight

Let us know how the knife functions/performs after the modification. It sounds like what you said earlier about one man's closing is another man's opening problem may be the situation here. I'm glad you ssay that about the stretch. I have a nishijin stretch too and it's at the top.as far as best fe...

Re: Laci Szabo very Tight

My stretch has been at SFO for about 6 weeks or so now. The letter said the knife is in spec (I disagree but whatever) but they're also replacing the FRN backspacer I ruined during a second reassembly. To be honest, I'm not sure SFO will do anything about the knife being a tough opener, unfortunate...

Re: Laci Szabo very Tight

My superblue stretch is the same way (it sounds like a few SB owners have the same issue) and nothing I did helped it and I went as far as lightly filling the scales near the tang thinking it'd relieve pressure but it didn't do a thing. I think that you sometimes just have to live with a not quite ...
