Re: Rock Jumper Thread
“Rock Jumper” makes me think of Specialized bicycles. The Rock Hopper was a really decent cromoly mtb bike. The Stump Jumper was flat out awesome. Don’t think those old model names are in current use. ..... I remember those mountainbikes! :) Always wanted a Stumpjumper, but could not afford it at t...

Re: Salty 2 Two
I have a yellow handled Salt 2 SE wearing an MXG Gear deep carry clip that is one of my favorite knives. I carry it while trail running, doing yardwork, going to the beach, and it's my go-to beater knife that takes anything I can throw at it. Much love for the Salt 2 for sure!

Unpopular opinion: I actually really like the look of scratches and wear on my blades, DLC or not. It's cool that you can clean them off for resale or just to pretty them up tho!

Military left-handed
PM2 left-handed
Native 5 Salt
Salt 2 serrated
Waterway

Ivory or white linen Micarta would look really nice on such a slim and classy design like the Chap.
I also love blue denim Micarta on just about anything.

Re: Interest for Cruwear Micarta Manix Backlock?
I'd be interested for sure, but don't see it happening. A regular CBBL Manix 2 w/ Micarta + Cruwear would be sweet too. I prefer the Manix 2 to the Shaman overall.

Re: SE performance is more than simply teeth vs no teeth.
Awesome writeup! My SE Salt 2 is one of my most carried knives, but I do struggle with getting the last bit of straight edge near the tip (~1/2") sharp. Anyone have any tips? I position my index finger just behind the end of the PE portion right before the first serration to block accidentally...

S30V and VG-10 are steels I love even though they've fallen out of fashion.
A2 is pretty uncommon but I've loved it on a couple of LT Wright knives I've had.

Re: Choose my knife (or my fate) for 4 days!
I've carried versions of all of the knives in the poll on extended trips into the backcountry and all have performed flawlessly -- thanks for designing a ton of killer knives, Spyderco! I voted for the M2 LW because I've been on a Manix kick lately. It's crazy to me how such a lightweight knife can ...

High vis for sure! The ONLY thing I don't absolutely love about my Waterway is the black handle. I've tied a bright orange lanyard to mine for visibility, but I'd love to go lanyardless.

Re: Any plans for a Lefty Para 3 LW?
I'd for sure buy one. Every few years, Spyderco released one of their designs in a lefty configuration and I already love my lefty Millie and PM2. A Para 3 LW would be a cool addition for sure!

Lefty Para 3 Lightweight would be my vote for the next lefty release! I already own the lefty PM2 and Millie, so I'm stoked for whatever the next lefty release is regardless.

Re: Chaparral FRN CQI
Interested in seeing the new version. I had a lot of problems with the clip sliding around under the screw on the first one I had. Seems like the grooves in the FRN weren't as deep as they are on the Manix LW or Dfly2.

Re: Any love out there for the Enuff Salt?
I had a sheepsfoot version a while back and loved it! The sheath retention was a huge bummer though. Wish it came with a molded sheath like the Waterway or Moran.
It's been replaced by the Waterway for my kayaking/fishing knife.

Re: Para 2 with button lock release..
C'mon man, why you gotta make all those lefty PM2's back into right-handed models? Don't you right-handers have enough PM2's already? Glad I got my lefty PM2 before the rest are butchered this way! Totally kidding -- pretty cool mod! Makes me want to do my own mod to a right-handed PM2 so I can have...

Re: Manix 2 LW Maxamet opening not very smooth
Every M2 Lightweight I've owned was pretty underwhelming out of the box. I feel like once the bearing/tang and blade/pivot interfaces wears in a little and the spring breaks in, the action improves dramatically. Edit: hold the lock open while you move the blade in/out to make sure it's the bearing/t...

Nice knife Paul! Any chance of some in hand pics ... maybe with a Military or something for size comparison? :) Thank you :) And, yes. You got it my friend. Great pics! So how are you supposed to sharpen this thing? Micro bevel? Stropping and prolly be careful not to get it too dull? ...
