I would have but it was a gift, and I didn't have any info on where it was purchased. I didn't get much info from Spyderco. I thought they would replace it but they didn't. Best I can tell, they replaced the broken clip and sharpened it. I don't think they opened it up and I'm not sure how they woul...

I got the knife back and I think the letter says there was no defect which is a little confusing. I'm going to try calling the number Monday to see if I can find out exactly what they did. I know the clip was replaced and it was sharpened, but I'm not sure they took it apart to see the rubbing. Also...

I have heard that superglue works just as well as lock tite. But, I have not tried it myself, and I would avoid using near plastics. There is a place in my area called Fasten-All, and they might have the screws, but calling customer support is the best place to start. The number for the Spyderco Out...

Cara Cara Blade Rubbing When Closed
I posted this on the Byrd general discussion and got no responses, so I thought I would post it here since there is more traffic on the Spyderco side. When I close my New Cara Cara, I noticed that the belly of the blade at the end, rests on the handle inside. I think it's the piece that holds the sp...

Sorry I just saw this and for some reason was not subscribed to the thread. The lock bar is fine, the spring inside the knife is not. It slides forward during operation to the point where it no longer holds tension. I have resolved the problem though. The notch or divot where the spring rests in the...

Steel Types
I just got a Cara Cara and I'm wondering how the steel compares to my Paraframe. I know I like my Byrd a lot more, and it functions better so far, but I don't know a lot about different types of steel, and I'm looking to learn more.

Cara Cara Blade Rubbing When Closed
When I close my New Cara Cara, I noticed that the belly of the blade at the end, rests on the handle inside. I think it's the piece that holds the spring. Anyway, I was just wondering if that is normal. I know some knives have extra pins, or a raised part near the hilt that keeps the blade "flo...

Sharpening tips.
I've had a long past with Spyderco. In High School I got a Native. It was by far my favorite knife. Unfortunately it was lost by someone who will remain anonymous.... Then I had a string of lesser knives, and after college I went into a field which does not allow me to carry a pocket knife, so I nev...
