Re: Swayback Lookout Thread

I like the spoon clip best--bet it would be attractive if you blasted/etched it like the Nirvana's was.

That 3.53 inch blade length is a bummer, though...

Re: Back lock Lock rock

Some knives we buy as tools, some as treasures. For those whose Delica is the crown jewel of the collection, lock rock will get under their skin. We want our treasured stuff to seem perfect, right? Tangent: This is why I find the Golden Co. sprints are a special beast. QC is high enough to satisfy n...

Re: Mantra Detent Ball

My first Mantra's detent wore down, rotated it like you did, and that wore down too (quickly).
Replaced it with a ceramic ball. No issues since.
Same story with my Bradley. No issues with my Techno, though. Perhaps some combination of different steel and blade finish?

Re: Chaparral Handle Materials

Diamondwood, linerless G10/CF, and micarta all sound good, but what I'd really like to see is Fluted CF or Fluted Ti. Here's hoping the fluting procedure is not a Golden exclusive at this time. A fluted and anodized Ti Chappy like that Military model would be sweet.

Re: Crazy deals @ Sierra and other places

Ebay seller whitemountainknives (no personal experience w/them) appears to have a Southfork for a steal. I have bought from them (whitemountainknives.com) a couple of times without any problems. :) :spyder: +2 Link? I can't find this in active or completed listings. checked their website and didn't...

Re: Can Spyderco improve the Back Lock or is it at its peak?

Native 5 lock is pretty much perfection. Chaparrals have internal stop pins. Presumably there is some advantage to that.

Re: Recommend me some models

Ok, ok, you convinced me. :D I just ordered the KC Native 5 in Green G10. To be clear, are you saying that the S110 Blurple version does have liners so this KC exclusive is unique in that it is linerless? Yeah, smooth texture and linerless. Not only that, being a dealer exclusive, it may not be aro...

Re: Recommend me some models

How much bigger is the Native? I actually plan on picking up a Blurple G10 S110V Native as probably my next knife. I feel that the Native is significantly larger in hand/pocket than most other 3" Spydies, especially when compared to a Caly3/UKPK or Delica. If you're going Blurple G10, you should se...

I believe so. Also had some wearing in where the lockbar travels across (only) one liner also. I assume the lock easing up was due to both the wear-in and over-tightened screws. Bank vault lock-up.

Re: Lum Tanto...Yes or No

I believe the Grey G10 sprint version from a few years ago had teflon washers. Maybe someone who owns one can confirm.
Would be nice to see phosphor bronze and milled liners.

Re: 2017 - Lightweight/FRN Chaparral

I neglected to give any update. Maybe it will be of interest to future readers. Got home to my torx bits and nano oil, and gave the knife a cleaning. After some combination of more opening and closing, cleaning, lubing, and tweaking screws, my knife has gone from an extreme case to very satisfactory...

Thanks for your replies. My stubbornness has about ran out, I think this little guy's going back for exchange.
