Wife got her her purple ladybug first thing. Handy for all the tape on the boxes. Low and behold for the man that has everything my wife got me a Baliyo by spyderco. Pretty neat pen was always fascinated by butterfly knives as a kid. Plus the pen aspect makes it socially acceptable to whip it out an...

I will start the Holidays with my workhorse Byrd Meadowlark! Who knows yet what Christmas Day will bring but I can promise it will be my edc for the day. Will make sure my wife opens her purple ladybug first because it will be excellent for cutting away tape on the other packages.

My opinion may be off due to my spyderco rescue being probably the first release. However I trust the byrd rescue's 100 percent. I work around and in moving water with ropes a lot. I used to think fixed blade was better in this situation however due to 1000's of draws my spyderco's now pretty much o...

Picked up some jade jigged bone and a sheet of kydex a couple weeks ago. Got the scales finished already. As soon as I finish the sheath I plan EDC.

I work a lot in fast moving water and rope comes in to the equation often so a Rescue or Assist is always near the top of my list. I know it is a specialized use but if water and rope are a part of your life they are a must have.

Sal,
Thanks for chiming in with some answers to my questions! I have loved Spyderco since my first 20 years ago. Just recently getting back in to them. With service like this, what I thought were the best knives period just got better.

I'll second the meadowlark 2!! I would say 4 out of 5 days that I leave for work I reach for the meadowlark over my delica. Do not get me wrong I like my delica but am drawn to the byrd. Would not think twice about walking out into a $&@! storm with a byrd in hand.

Spyderco Kitchen Knives

Just read the post on spyderco branded kitchen knives to be released into the wild again! So who has one of the older ones and what is your impression? Also anyone have any spoilers on what is coming our way?
Thanks,

Nope, jigged bone dyed jade. Wish the pic was better resizing the photo really degraded the look. In looking for scales on the Internet I quickly discovered a major supplier was literally right down the street. Picked that jade jigged bone out of a scrap box.

You can let the dog chew it, you can loose it in the yard for several years, you can pry open oysters, much easier after breaking off the tip. And after all this you can still Edc it because it just works for you!

Count me in. Got 2 honeybee's today for my sons for their bug collection's! Picked up a byrd meadowlark rescue for my sister who has spent a lot of time on the river this year. On the fence for my wife, went to get her a dragonfly tattoo, but she hates cold metal handles. So maybe a purple delica. S...
