Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped

Are those areas due to uneven heights of the liners and back spacer or gaps between them? If they're uneven heights can sanding them smooth fix it?

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped

I'll never order from KO again? Correct. I already have > 60 knives and had never ordered from them before. I'm able to buy knives elsewhere most of the time. I already had two Caly knives on pre-order from two other merchants. The other merchants were honest when they took my orders. I knew going ...

Re: Caly 3 HAP40 dropped

I ordered from KO at 12:10 today and got a confirmation email. It was for sale, not pre-order, or else I would not have placed the order. I just got another email at 8:54 pm that said: "This product is not yet released but will release very soon. We were flooded with orders today for it WAY BEY...

Re: I'm officially over G10

I always wanted G10. The Stretch was the first knife with FRN I got and I loved it. When the Stretch 2 came out in G10 I was all over it. I was suprised that I didn't like the G10 scales on it. Now that the Stretch 2 has come out in FRN I've bought three of them. For the Stretch it's FRN all the way...

Re: Me...The Ouroboros...And Others...

By the way, Bark River Knives has some models I would love to have. They're priced too high for the most part for me to seriously consider buying one, though. I'd never get my money's worth out of them, but I can appreciate how nice and attractive they are.

Re: Me...The Ouroboros...And Others...

Yah, in my opinion the Ouroboros price is a little steep for what you get. I absolutely love my Kiwi 4. When I saw the pre-release info about the Ouroboros I thought I was going to like it even more than the Kiwi. When I finally got one it's OK but IMO not a good as the Kiwi. I'm OK with that though...

Re: Sal, hope to hear from you

I wasn't aware there was a problem with bearings on knives from Taiwan. How about some links or something else to justify your position?

Re: Spyderco's New Website

The menu at the top stays visible even when scrolling down. It takes up too much screen- about 200 vertical pixels in Firefox when viewed at 1366x768. If I wanted to look at the menu all the time I wouldn't have scrolled down in the first place.

Re: Edge pro apex and hollow ground spydies?

+1 what Evil D said about resting the knife on the tang, not the spine. If you lay the spine on the base you'll end up with a wider, shallower bevel as you go toward the knife tip. This is due to the blade stock getting thinner toward the tip. If you lay the knife handle on the base or apply too muc...

Re: Impulse Buy-Do you do it?

I'm pretty immune to impulse buying now. I've bought almost all the knives I would want to buy. Lots of them were bought on impulse but I would've bought them sooner or later anyway. The ones I haven't bought are mostly designs that turn me off for one reason or another. Now if you'll excuse me I ne...

Re: The blade length of the Paramilitary 2 could be increased

Cops telling you that your 3.50'' knife is illegal when it's not? Well, some day you will have to show some spine against ridiculous laws. I'd rather carry a blade a tad shorter than the legal limit just to be on the safe side. Going the other direction, shotgun barrels have to be at least 18"...

Re: thanks for the Stretch

I used to favor G10 over FRN, to the point of not buying knives because the came in FRN. Then I got several Stretches. They're almost my only knives that have FRN scales (Manix is the exception). Before it came out I was looking forward to the Stretch 2 with G10. Now I feel it's an OK knife but as h...

Re: Anyone own a Pattada? Or have any hands on info?

My son and daughter gave me one for Father's Day (I ordered it as soon as I got an email from a dealer :D ). Just arrived yesterday. Handle could be a little more grippy but it is plenty long and has some 3-D countouring instead of flat slabs. Curve near the pinky feels good. Overall steady in the h...

Re: Most Iconic Spyderco?

The correct answer is PM2.

The other responses were either only semi-iconic, quasi-iconic, partially iconic, or just plain un-iconic.

I'm off to the Bonus Round. They rest of you wait here. Someone will be by shortly with some lovely parting gifts for our contestants tonight. :D
