The knock offs could have a different texture on G10 scales, not so grippe and more rough. And the blade could be a little narrower at the knife "belly". And not smooth when you open it. Learned from other forums.

New batch just released? I'm not sure what you mean. But yeah I saw the amazon thing too, that was for the DLC blade right? I am not quite sure either. Since it been out of stock for a long time and suddenly it shows preorder is available so I thought it should mean the new batch in coming out soon...

g10 absorbs smells and is rough so it will get all nasty pluss the lock and inside will get clogged with food but its up to you. Haven't thought about the G10 thing, thanks for the heads up. Really like the look of spyderco blade with Black coating. Want to buy a DLC coated paramilitary II for daily use, cutting slicing food preparations and such things. Do any one know if the coating has bad chemicals or something that can not be used for food? Did some search online but still not have...

If you want to put it on key chain hawkbill is a bit bulky IMO, Serrated edge is said to be better than plain edge on H1.
