Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
The Crossbar (Axis) Lock seems to be gaining much more in popularity since the Benchmade patent ran out in 2016 (you still can’t call it Axis lock due to trademarks). I’ve gotten several impressive ones from various brands with different names for the Crossbar Lock: — Hogue - ABLE Lock — Kershaw - ...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
I'd be super interested in Spyderco's take on a crossbar lock as well as Snecx's Superlock. A Sage in a Crossbar Lock would be awesome! Re: Tax day MAP sale!
Para3 SPY27 Cobalt Blue G-10 is $149.99 (47% off MSRP) at Indiana Knives. MSRP is $285.00 so normal MAP of 30% off MSRP is $213.75.

Re: Tax day MAP sale!
I don’t see deals. Para3 CPM-SPY27 Satin Plain Blade & Cobalt Blue G10 is on sale for $192.38 which is 32% off MSRP where MAP just until recently was 30% off MSRP. I say try to hold out for 45%+ off MSRP. KnifeCenter says the sale ends at 11:59pm ET on April 15th. https://i.imgur.com/I5B7tqC.jpe...

Re: Sage series collection - What's the next Sage?
All three proposed Sage 5 models below would be nice:
— MagnaCut Yellow FRN
— LC200N Green FRN
— K390 Blue FRN
Of course, a new locking mechanism would be the icing on the cake.

Re: UKPK Magnacut?
Obviously, Spyderco is prioritizing the best selling models for MagnaCut release ahead of those announced even earlier. The UKPK MagnaCut models were announced in the 2023 Spyderco Product Guide on January 6, 2023. Since then, other models announced later have been released ahead of them: Manix2, Pa...

Re: Tip Up vs Tip Down Poll
Did a similar poll a year ago with 74% voting for “Tip Up Right Hand” carry . The April 2024 issue of the Spyderco byte newsletter has a very informative section on the subject called “ Tip-Up Versus Tip-Down Carry ”. There is no best way! Personal preference dictates. My personal preference for Tip...

Re: Chaparral
XHP is good up to a point. Personally, in a small EDC folder corrosion resistance and edge retention are paramount. A default steel like M390/20CV/204P or M398 would serve better. Personally, I default to M390/20CV although M398 looks pretty sweet (haven’t tried it). Data below is from Larrin . http...

Re: Upping the price.
I just ordered a ManBug VG-10 SpyderEdge Leaf Blade (MBKLFS) and a ManBug VG-10 SpyderEdge Wharncliffe Blade (MBKWS). I’ll subjectively test them both by opening various packages and alternate with one week each over a month. I have quite a few ManBug and Ladybug folders over the years although I ga...

Re: Upping the price.
I carried a Warnie Manbug for quite a while. Very useful size. Now, I'm carrying a serrated leaf Manbug. Wouldn't be without it. sal Sal, may I ask: Any specific reasons why you switched from wharnie to leaf shape with the serrated one? (As far as I know the wharnie Manbug can be had with teeth too...
