Tenifer treatment is colorless. It is an acid type treatment that cannot be used in the US, due to EPA Laws and Regs. Tenifer actually penetrates the metal down to 3 microns, and makes the metal extremely hard. (The Glock slide is actually a medium hard steel with the battlehard tenifer armored exte...

I digressed ... sorry Spyderco

I was enticed to purchase another brand knife by a great deal offered on another forum. Yesterday at 2:00pm EST, the UPS guy makes the much anticipated delivery, and I immediately open the package. What a disappointment. This well known name brand, very highly touted in some circles, was NO WHERE ne...

Try J & M Knife Works (email Jamie at pientinki@zoomnet.net or phone 740-493-2270). He was advertising that he still has access to them about a week or so ago.

And I agree, the Weg's are durn near perfect.

The Weg and Weg Jr. are my favorite daily carry pieces. I especially like the lockup on these models - no stop pin, the blade locks against a solid steel liner. The ATS34 blades take and hold a decent edge, and there's plenty of beef at the tip for heavy work. I highly recommend it/them.

It may be the safest, too. I had an accident with a thumbstud opener and as a result, cut the nerves in my thumb and lost all feeling in a portion of the tip of my thumb. Now I use the Spyderco's because I can feel the "engagement" , so to speak. Those holes offer a large target to hit and...

You're very welcome and good luck with your new knife. BTW, I couldn't sharpen a knife to save my a** until I tried Spyderco's Sharpmaker and watched Sal's video. Now my arm is as bald as my head. It keeps my knives scary sharp, so much so that the hair on my arm surrenders and falls off on it's own...

Personally I prefer the combo edge, but there are some considerations here: 1. I think the plain edge is easier to keep sharp, 2. The plain edge is "sheeple" and airline friendly (seems a lot of airlines won't allow serrated edges on their planes or into their terminals), 3. If the knife w...

The Delica and the Native are both great knives. The Native would be my first choice for: 1. Slightly thicker blade of premium CPM440V steel, and; 2. Slightly better handle ergonomics. Rest assured that you won't find "seconds" at a quality dealer like Greg at Skylands. I've known him and ...

Thanks for the generous offer Sal! Guess I'll have to pass for a bit, however. That would mean I'd have to stop carrying it for a bit and I can't bear to do that yet. Unless I buy another ... hmm... we may be on to something here. lol

In the safe, about 8-10 others. Playing the waiting game for still a couple more. Counting the pennies for a mouse and a trap :D

WD-40, when left to sit on a metallic surface for long periods of time, will congeal and harden. It's not good to use it on knives or guns that get locked up for months at a time. It's best for displacing moisture and then replacing with a proper lubricant.
