Re: The Wire Clip: express your love, hate, indifference

I can’t believe that the LW Native still has a hourglass clip yet the LW Manix 2 has a wire clip.

The Native is a perfect knife for the wire clip.

Re: Where is the Urban Coyote?

I just got my Urban in AEB-L the other day and I am liking it a lot. The action is a bit stiffer than my K390 one and that is not a big deal. It will smooth out with use I am sure. The grind is a bit off from side to side but that is normal and that is usually the first thing I fix on all new knives...

These are my 3 latest traditional knives, a GEC 06 with blue jigged bone, a GEC 29 in acrylic, and a Queen Heritage Jack with wood covers.

All of these are excellent in terms of craftsmanship and they all slice things up very well.

Re: SEKI-CITY JAPAN looks hand etched

I ended up with 2 V Toku Delicas and only one of them has the strange font.
Both were bought at reputable dealers so I am not concerned with the fake issue.

I kinda like the look of the odd lettering.

Right now I drive a 5 speed VW Passat.
My first car was a 75 Dodge Dart and my favorite car was my 68 Fury III, I’m 6’ and I could stretch out and lie down in the back seat.

Re: 1950s/60s TV Shows That Were Truly Ahead Of Their Time

Not to get away from the spirit of the thread, but does anyone listen to replays of the old radio shows? I know, in my neck of the woods, that AM 900 out of Toronto broadcasts them from around 9 pm on. Nights are the only time I can pick it up. I love the old radio programs. The Shadow, Dragnet, Su...

Re: 1950s/60s TV Shows That Were Truly Ahead Of Their Time

Dragnet was way ahead of its time imo. I’m talking about the 50’s version though. It really set the baseline for police procedural shows. Given the time period the acting was excellent also. If you have never seen the 50’s version check out “The Big Cast” with Lee Marvin playing a serial killer. As ...

Re: Police 4 lightweight

Nevermind the fancy steels, I want partially serrated! Yes, I know I am in the minority, but the all Stainless versions get it, and I do not like the lack of grip on those. It would be great to see a partial serrated blade on the VG10 and K390 versions, for ZDP I would stick with a plain edge. I lo...

Good read.
Yes tailgating then braking causes the “accordion effect “ which slows traffic for no good reason.

I definitely want to get one of the Byrds with the wave feature.
Actually the Dragonfly with the wave looks slick too.

Re: Driving/Traffic rant

The thing that gets me is excessive braking on the highway.
Even in heavy but moving traffic I can usually go my entire ride, 20 or so miles, without touching my brakes.

It seems like people don’t realize that letting off the accelerator slows the vehicle.

Re: Byrd with high-end steel

I like to carry my Cara Cara and Meadowlark hawkbill at work and I find the steel to be very good for the price.

Using high end steel on the Byrd line doesn’t make much sense to me.
I would be happy with any steel as long as it is treated well.

Re: Wire clip just not for me

At first I didn’t care for the wire clip but over the years it has become my preferred type clip.

I really wish the LW Native transitioned over to the wire clip and really most of the frn models would look and carry better with it.

Re: Para 3 lightweight anticipation

I am excited about the Para3 lw.
Pretty sure I will go with the serrated version when they drop.

A lightweight Military would be a great idea.
I’m sure a liner lock would work fine with frn scales.

I don’t think I could do this.
Just the other day my Delica started cutting foam a little raggedy so I hit it with a pocket stone right on the spot.

2510A99F-C504-4656-9AD0-82F7F4D61EA5.jpeg I had this Cold Steel Luzon for over a week now and it is a very nice inexpensive knife. Usually I dislike flippers but I am liking the design and feel of this knife. For a liner lock it is solid, it does have a manual safety but I don’t use it. It is 8cr s...
